I've had enough! 🍊🖕🏻

Ok, the sale is certainly 2/3 emotional and only 1/3 well-founded, but after Trump's speech in Davos I now want to significantly reduce America in my portfolio. I'm certainly not moving the market with it, and of course I can't do without the USA completely (also in the portfolio), but if it moves the world away from the USA then I'm sure I'll find nice investments elsewhere that are also objectively better than $WEN. I am also looking at exit scenarios for Adobe, Clorox and Pegasystems, one of which will probably also be removed from the portfolio in the next few days. Of course, losing more than 40% is not nice, but that's just the way it is. Wipe my mouth & carry on. Let's see who comes into the portfolio instead.

I fear that the US stock market will continue to perform as well as before after a more or less complete correction. Emotions off. They can be a real hindrance when trading. Look at it the other way around if you disagree politically. If they and/or specifically he are already doing things that don't suit you at all, then at least I'm taking money out of their pockets, or rather the US companies, and making the maximum profit for you! It's always a question of perspective😉. This could also take the hassle out of watching another, possibly extremely successful US stock market performance over the next few months.
Happy trading, despite the circumstances 😎

@value_crafter_1628 Maybe, but even then Wendy's won't necessarily be the beneficiary of a broad-based recovery in the US markets. I have just added $KXS to my portfolio, which is more growth-oriented and I think Canada is acting very smartly on the world stage at the moment. And I've been following the company for a while now. At the end of the day, I admit that this was more of a defiant reaction than a rational profit maximization, but perhaps it will turn out to be the right decision financially. And I still have around 30% USA in my portfolio.

@value_crafter_1628 Correct. I agree. Who wouldn't have wanted to join Rheinmetall at e.g. 100... Morality and own political interests in share trading?

@matze_2366 Believe me or not, I wouldn't have done it even if I had known that in 2020. I certainly would have gone all-in on other stocks, I would have gone all-in on NVIDIA immediately, but I would have left it at Rheinmetall anyway. And I'm completely relaxed when others do it, I just don't want it for my portfolio.

@Maverick4831 Mostly said by the US themselves ;)

@DieEnte7 well, historical data proves it to be right, doesn’t it?

@Maverick4831 For the US yes, for Wendy‘s not really 🙃 And, sometimes things may happen for the first time. And right now, I‘d be happy for them if it does.

Exciting. Looks more like an entry than an exit scenario to me at the moment!

Debt is pretty much bottomless otherwise an exciting value play! Waiting for the share price to rise is rewarded with a dividend yield of almost 7%

@BoldTake Let's see, it looked like this two years ago, then it went down, then the dividend was cut and now it looks the same again, except that the portfolio value has been halved in the meantime. I've already written that it wasn't the rational investor in me, it was simply a "the Americans are stupid" move, which I also stand by.

@fund_navigator_elshq Well, just because I sell something after holding it for two and a half years doesn't make me a trader, I don't think. But at the end of the day, I don't care.

Yes, of course the USA is not ONLY Trump and the man is historically unpopular, but almost 40% of the population still look at this and say "Well, that's fine". And if the choice is between Vance and Newsom, it is not a foregone conclusion that MAGA will not continue under new leadership from 2028. What Trump is pulling is not possible without a coalition of the willing. And we'll probably have 3 more years of this crap anyway.
