Trading opportunity? Question from Chris🚀

$SMHN (+2.21%)
@Multibagger When I look at the charts according to my pattern, I am not surprised by the high short rate. For me, there is more downside than upside.

5-year view: Relevant volumes are all below the current price.

attachment

View since October - trend reversalThe price is currently running between VWAP and band 1 - for me no trend recognizable for a short-term trade, in any case wait until the price either approaches the VWAP or returns to band 2 (red line) at the bottom.

attachment

View since April - VWAP at last low: It looks similar, the price is hovering somewhere between Band1 and Band2 - currently no prominent entry point.

If I wanted to get in there, I would wait for a short-term trade until the price either runs back to the VWAP and this offers support in the short term, or wait for you as an old "short friend" until it runs back to the edge of Band2 (upper red line) and bounces off this resistance again.

But, this is just my interpretation according to my Setup🤷‍♂️

@Kundenservice Attaching pictures to comments would be a nice thing, I haven't followed the topic anymore, is something like that coming or is it planned?

I must completely reject the idea that I am a short friend. I am much worse. I trade on anything that promises me as much return as possible. 😉 Short, long, sideways? It doesn't matter at all. I'm an incomprehensible specimen for 90% of the community here😂 But I live well with it.

Thank you for making the extra effort. If I understand correctly, would €36/37 be a good entry level for a log trade?

@Multibagger What do you see in the share? I've been looking more closely at the share for 2 days now and I'm still extremely unsure. I actually like a lot of it, but the player is so small compared to the competition. What's more, it hardly generates any sales in the USA

@topicswithhead or is this going to be a pure trade?
profile image
@Multibagger if you want to go long, then yes - but rather tightly hedged. Otherwise the range between €27 and €19🥶 will call.

PS: the weather is bad here at the moment, so it's good weather to look at a few stocks 😁

@topicswithhead yes, I would only go on one trade if I were speculating on a short squeeze.

Hey Tom, I have read your posts, I would be interested to know how you make your pre-selection. So before you evaluate the stock via the sma.
For example, how did you stumble across the share $MHN?

Greetings

@Jogilein could it be that you have linked another share? $MHN doesn't tell me anything.

Or the one mentioned in my post $SMHN. Yesterday @Multibagger asked me a question about my assessment, so I posted something about it today https://getqu.in/4BF5Xe/

@TomTurboInvest oh yes sorry. I meant $SMHN. But that doesn't really change the question. I would be interested to know how you make your pre-selection. Briefly about me, I'm 59 years young and used to trade a lot of cfds....... used to trade futures. Now I only buy shares to keep them.
I would actually have been interested in your opinion on an analysis software, if you have the time and inclination you can take a look at an analysis on YouTube ...... I tested the software for 7 days and find it really promising.
The software is called GROWTH Investing.

@Jogilein Sounds interesting! Then we are similar in age - I was born in the early 70s 😅
Please post the link to the YT video.

I've roughly described the pre-selection of my stocks in part 3 of my trading posts, but only at a high level, otherwise it would all be far too much to read. I just wanted to introduce what and how a hobby trader like me does it https://getqu.in/9XGYtO/

@TomTurboInvest https://youtu.be/GLqkY2_nR5k?si=nJc-pGO0jV6wKgEF this is just a 3 min video where he analyzes a stock with the software. I just like the screening and the associated information......relatively simple, strict and clear.

@Jogilein I've just watched 3 videos from Growth Invest. This seems to me to be their tool, which primarily presents the fundamental data in a nice graphic form.

I didn't see any chart analysis, except for the high level chart which is always discussed at the end of the videos.
For my trading activities, what I have seen would be far too little. I also have the graphical presentation of all fundamental data in TradingView, only much more detailed and at a fraction of the price. They want €27 per month for DE+US shares and €45 for global shares. In TradingView I have everything - from stocks, bonds, commodities, cryptos, etc... many useful things in the free version.

I didn't see the stock screener in the videos, but that's also important for me, and with TradingView I also have all the filters / indicators available, and can screen for specific stocks depending on my focus. Do you know Trading View? There's also a free version, and you can test all price models for a month free of charge - just have a look - it might be something for you too.

PS: I have nothing to do with TradingView, I'm just a user, I don't want it to come across as advertising.

Yes, I have actually been using TradingView for a long time. But certainly not nearly as intensively and in as much detail as you. I actually know a few and have looked at them, but in my opinion never in the same way as Growth Invest. Yes, the analysis is done with the software, thought it was good for an insight into the software. And I was actually put off by the price (I was also put off at 55 euros, I had also given this as a reason and have now seen that they have lowered the price).
By the way, I find your hit rate tremendous, I never had. And it's clear to me that the tool offers you no added value if you have such a successful strategy.

@Jogilein Ask in a post whether anyone knows or has experience with growth investing. As I primarily base my stock selection on the chart, my personal assessment may not be the best in this context.
I do look at the fundamental data from time to time, but really only on earnings. And I'm quite happy with all the details on TV.

PS: I've had the hit rate since I've only focused on equities, that's where my setup works best and equities are much more forgiving in terms of timing than many other assets such as leveraged products. That's why I don't change anything and consistently exclude everything else, even if some leveraged products might be tempting from time to time😅

I would also be interested to know if your setting has been suitable for a long time? So over 1 to 2 years.
I had only ever traded the indices via futures and later cfds. But then the markets were constantly changing. What I mean is.....that the whole thing worked very well for half a year and then not again. I can only speak for myself.

Have a nice evening and thank you for your time

@Jogilein I've been sustainably profitable with this setup for a few years now. Corona, 2022 and beyond. I've already been through a few market phases😅
I prefer stocks in a stable sideways phase plus high ADR, because you can rely relatively well on the VWAP and the deviations 1+2.
