Telek8m share buyback

$DTE (+0.44%) - Die Welt reports on Deutsche Telekom's current share buyback program. I think that's a good thing - after all, fewer shares means that profits and dividends will be distributed over fewer remaining shares in future. That's a good thing. If the share price does not yet benefit directly - so what.

I also took 90 units off the market recently 🫠

I got in 4 weeks ago with 400 shares with a first tranche, will probably take some risk and double the position and thus make it full. This is my hedge for $VZ 😉

@Dividendenopi Hm, I should have guessed that you were invested in Verizon. The dividend is quite nice there 😉

@Dividendenopi I have (unfortunately) also had them for decades. I don't see a future for either. At some point, a large corporation will take over mobile communications: Amazon, Starlink, etc.

@Smudeo They're just dumb stocks around the purchase price that do what I expect them to do. Pay dividends. As you rightly say, you have to keep an eye on developments in the sector. I don't see any danger in the medium term

You also have to bear in mind that cash flow is extremely important for Telekom. Expansion and dividends. Share buybacks initially reduce the available cash flow. In the long term, it can help the dividend increase 😉

But the price is even a bit high today, if I look at it now.

@NichtRelevant aren't they down 20% from the ATH again? if you are convinced of your business model, you are happy when the share is cheap and the buybacks are more efficient as a result 😅
