The question about the "best" crypto exchange comes up often, I wanted to give the answer here, then I can always link the post in the future.

tl;dr for those in a hurry

- You are a beginner and want to buy small amounts of common cryptocurrencies?

𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 join.bisonapp.com/t926da

(Reflink will give 15€ in BTC to you and me, after the first trade >50€).

- Need more choice of coins or make trades >1000€? Then Kraken.

𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 kraken.com

Basically, unfortunately, there is no provider that is the best in every aspect. With 3 factors, however, significant differences can already be dealt with.

1. which cryptocurrency do you want to buy?

2. how much money do you want to invest?

3. do you want to transfer the cryptocurrency to your own wallet?

Bonus: 4. functionality beyond trading

1. which cryptocurrency do you want to buy?

Relatively self-explanatory, if the cryptocurrency is not offered you cannot buy it.

2. how much money do you want to invest?

If you want to invest more money, then you usually benefit from larger exchanges with better rates. If you invest less money, then this is less important.

3) Do you want to transfer the cryptocurrency to your own wallet?

First, there are providers where this is generally not possible, either because you do not buy real cryptos or because they are stored only for you. Secondly, a fee point depends on this question. If you move your cryptos to your own wallet, some providers will charge you a fee. These fees are not variable, which means that the lower your investment, the higher the percentage of these fees. There are also minimum amounts below which you cannot withdraw.

𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 and 𝐁𝐒𝐃𝐄𝐗 offer only a few cryptocurrencies and the provider earns with Bison via the spreads, but there are no fees for the transfer to the own wallet. Furthermore, the offers are in German, the support is German and the provider is regulated in Germany. Additionally, your euro deposits (and only those) are protected by the Deposit Protection Fund up to 100k. BSDEX has lower fees, but offers fewer coins than Bison.

𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 and 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞 are trustworthy platforms from my point of view and both are trying to meet regulatory requirements. Both platforms have been active for a very long time and are among the largest in the market. The number of offered coins and trading pairs is good on both platforms, if you don't find something there it is often trash or even newer and more speculative. Trading on both via Pro, lower fees. If you use the platforms be prepared to need English at some point. Both offer German support, but that has limits. By the way, there is nothing against accounts with several exchanges, on the contrary, the accounts cost nothing.

𝐂𝐫𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦 (CDC) is not worth it for trading in my view. The fees are too high in my opinion.

𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 and 𝐅𝐓𝐗 offer again more cryptos and more trading pairs and many more features. English is a must on both. For beginners, both are not suitable from my point of view. Otherwise, I can still recommend to compare the largest Exchanges themselves if necessary, for example, via CMC. [1]

Overviews for trading / payout costs at Kraken [2,3], Binance [4,5] and CDC [6] are attached. Alternatively, there is also an aggregator that does this for all major Exchanges. [7]

► Other from the German-speaking world.

𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐢 more expensive than Bison / BSDEX, no web trading only app, app only works if biometrics enabled.

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭 / 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 / 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 no delivery of cryptos

𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝 only certificates no real cryptos

bitcoin.de low liquidity since P2P exchange

𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 unfortunately increased fees, but offers savings plans

𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬: 4. Functionality beyond trading.

I actually hope that anyone interested in more than normal trading has the expertise to do their own research. If not, then don't do the stuff unless you are clear on what the risks are or how it works. Therefore I will keep this short. Keywords to search for: Leaverage, Lending, Staking, Launchpools, Liquidity Pools, Vaults. This is all available through DeFi as well. Also, a note that not every provider offers the same thing under the same term. Binance, Coinbase and Nuri, for example, use the term Vault for different offers.

The 1000€ in tldr are set relatively arbitrarily, is just an approximation ... duh is just tl;dr.

Thankseeee for the nice overview! I am with Bison and completely satisfied. Is also perfectly sufficient for my occasional BTC and ETH purchases. If I didn't have an account yet, I would of course register via your link so we both get rich skrrr skrrr 🚀

@Lorena I hope Bison will expand the range of cryptocurrencies in the future. Otherwise, in my opinion, really a good and reliable provider.

BSDEX is dangerous... there is partly overnight not really traded - for example, the trading of XRP the other night from 22 to 6:30 clock completely still... if it comes to crash, you have no chance to trade more. But what is great, the payouts are completely free. Therefore buy cheap there and then directly away on ne wallet and to sell on ne larger exchange. I use Coincase Pro because I am a pro. 😜

@CryptoPfand Trading pause there is actually only for 30min at night. Otherwise, you still have the EUWAX which provides liquidity. There are vola interruptions https://www.bsdex.de/de/listing/

What is your position on Bitpanda or why is this platform not included in the consideration?

profile image
@Wellenreiter Doesn't it say?
profile image
@Wellenreiter Otherwise, I can only refer to the answer I also gave @Fan: I found it a bit strange with Bitpanda that they take deposit fees for cryptocurrencies. Plus withdrawal fee and trading fees it didn't seem very attractive to me.
profile image
@Europoor @Wellenreiter Moreover, Bitpanda very often has technical problems. Especially when the crypto market is moving strongly. No recommendation from me

My extra: Bitstamp, very established and reliable, fees quite competitive (max 0.5%) Bitpanda, also has a Pro variant like Coinbase, all the advantages of Bitpanda, but much lower fees (Maker Fee max 0.1%).

@Fan I found Bitpanda a bit strange that they take deposit fees for cryptocurrencies. Plus withdrawal fees and trading fees, it didn't seem very attractive to me. Bitstamp is English, you can rather go to Kraken, has more coins and more volume.

@getquin But I think it becomes quite clear there.

The block trainer, on the other hand, speaks positively about CDC stock exchange. Have the further on the screen
1
profile image
@rossicrypto This was mainly about trading with cryptocurrencies. There are attractive products at CDC, but I would not count trading among them.
profile image
@rossicrypto So I looked up "Fees above average" https://www.blocktrainer.de/crypto-com/ CDC takes 0.4% Fees https://crypto.com/exchange/document/fees-limits Kraken Pro takes 0.16% / 0.26%

@Europoor I don't disagree with you. I trade on octopuses myself 👌🙋🏻‍♂️

Super contribution, at Bitpanda I would like to add as an Austrian that there is also Bitpanda Pro. Here the fees are 0.10 or 0.15% which is very favorable in my eyes.🚀 Big plus also that the savings plans are debited directly from the reference account. With Bison, only the settlement account is debited😬.

profile image
@InvestmentguideAustria That's right with the savings plans, you have to make a standing order, with Bison. Otherwise, as already noted in the other comments, I find the deposit fee for crypto a bit strange. Likewise, the withdrawal fees are zT quite high ETH: 0.00485466 ETH

I am on Binance because of the whole ecosystem and the numerous earning functions. At the beginning, the whole thing may seem a bit confusing, but there is the Lite version, which is about as complex as the Bison app. Transfers are possible on Binance, but only through the partner ADVCash (usually always takes 5 days). I personally always buy coins on Bison, transfer them to Binance and sell them there for liquidity.

@JCM Yes you can also bring money via the P2P system on Binance or like you with another exchange. I also use the platform, but I would not recommend it to a beginner. He discovers the leverage after 2 days and then his money is gone.

Signed up through your Bison link i.as BitPanda is getting on my nerves... Let's see how the Bison platform is so.

Bitpanda and the savings plans = monthly rebalancing.
Coins are sold or bought automatically. Means: new fees + taxes at the end of the year.
Tax consultant will certainly be happy about an additional 1000 transactions per year 😉

Since normal bank transfers are no longer possible with binance, the deposit fees are too high for me. I prefer to use Bit Panda and get part of it back through BEST. Unfortunately, not all coins are available there. If they are only available at Binance, I just buy them there.

Are the savings plan costs at Bison the same as normal transactions?

Hi everyone, maybe one of you crypto experts can help me. I have a PV system
profile image
Here we go again. I received some solar coins from my PV system. They're not worth anything at the moment, but you can't do anything with them where they are at the moment. Do any of you have experience with this? Which wallet is suitable or, even better, which trading venue?

Who exactly offers a savings plan? I only read that once, does that mean all the others don't?

What does "Trade Republic - no delivery of cryptos" mean?

With crypto com you probably didn't include the exchange, otherwise you wouldn't be talking about high fees. Furthermore, they are the best in stablecoin interest rates. The card is unrivaled anyway.

I think crypto.com is being dealt with too briefly here. After all, the platform has more to offer than just trading. Staking and credit card cashback are two key components of the platform.
It also repeatedly offers a supercharger in which certain cryptocurrencies earn "interest" if they are invested accordingly...
