Payzy + Curve

tl;dr: Worst case 5,1€ to tap. Life without a cashback credit card is possible, but pointless.

W1tty [1] was nice, but has ceased operations. Plutus [1] still exists, but according to reports, payouts hardly work anymore. I left the sinking ship a while ago. The TR card is annoying with its strange conditions and it doesn't work with Curve. LBB Amazon Visa milked until the end, also dead.

Payzy offers a debit card with 1% and payments via Curve are also rewarded. This means you can make retroactive transfers via Curve. This is useful because you have to top up debit cards unless you want to park larger sums on your card account. But you don't really want to do that.

The offer will certainly not be permanent. I have not been able to find an official end date. Probably until the VC marketing money is empty.

You receive €5.1 in points directly for registering and generating the virtual card. 500 for signing up, 10 for generating the card. You can earn cents by creating a digital Amazon voucher. 100 points = 1€. Minimum redemption 50 points.

Payzy is a hip debit card product from the Greek mobile phone provider Cosmote, which in turn appears to be a subsidiary of Telekom. I don't have to understand anything, I take the cashback with me and move on when there is no more.

Plu payout works without any problems. I recently sent about 150 PLUs to my wallet. After less than a week they were there without any queries or anything else. From there, I can send them to Kucoin and exchange them for USDT, for example

Phew, isn't that a lot of effort to keep up with? Serious question. I've never given it much thought because I never thought it was worth the time involved.

I'd rather drive to a gas station where I pay 2 cents more if I don't have to wait 5 minutes for my turn. I'd rather spend the 10 minutes on working time, it's much more profitable...

@KevinC It doesn't take much effort. I'm also interested in it and I enjoy optimizing it in this area. As an employee, your salary in Germany is generally the same. You earn just as much sitting on the desk as you do in a meeting. Employee shares are the exception in Germany.

@Europoor No, that's not what I mean. I simply mean overtime. I take on a lot of tasks that most of my team don't want to do, so I work more hours, which are of course paid. As my hourly wage is good/adequate, I think three times about whether I spend time on things that I don't classify as "free time". That's why I take my shirts to the dry cleaners. I simply earn more money in that time than ironing would cost me.

@KevinC on the subject of overtime: have you read this economist's commentary on lindner's idea of reducing taxes on overtime?

@Europoor do you only use cards for cashback or also programs like shoop, payback etc?
profile image
@KevinC This is only possible if your overtime (from hour 1) is paid. Often a certain amount of overtime is paid directly or can only be reduced. But yes, I also externalize for money. In other words, I exchange money for time.

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur I take everything I can get. You don't always have everything in view, but various combinations result in nice additional discounts and possibly good offers anyway.

@Der_Dividenden_Monteur I'm following with great interest, especially because 35 hours is my standard working time 😂

@KevinC One other thought, everyone defines their free time differently. If I can generate money by watching stuff like that, that's nice. Soccer, computer games or other popular leisure activities are, in my opinion, a totally unproductive waste of time.

@KevinC When I get his e-mail out, I first explain the principle of customer service to him.

And yes, I feel the same way about the 35 😁 would be great but I can't imagine it

@Europoor Do you already have topcashback? They're relatively new and are putting out good deals

@Europoor yes, it has already become unattractive
PLU works great for me and is currently my favorite together with Curve
