1. Oliver Blume's first day at work at VW

Oliver Blume was previously known primarily as CEO of Porsche. As of today, he additionally takes over as CEO at Volkswagen. "Olli" is seen as a people catcher compared to his predecessor and is expected to smooth the rifts between the board and the workforce that were created by the transformation pressure of Herbert Diess. It remains to be seen whether Oliver Blume can do this and at the same time drive forward the tough renewal process.

JP Morgan wants to cooperate. The background is the Cum-Ex scandal. There are said to be more than 20 defendants, including managers and employees from the compliance department. Those involved had capital gains taxes refunded to them that they had not paid at all. 1. German inflation rate reaches 7.9%, the highest level in 50 years

Sharp price increases for energy and food have pushed the inflation rate in Germany to its highest level in almost 50 years. According to calculations by the Federal Statistical Office, consumer prices in May were 7.9 percent higher than in the same month last year.

This meant that the inflation rate in Europe's largest economy remained above the seven percent mark for the third month in a row. From April to May 2022, prices rose by 0.9 percent. The Wiesbaden-based statisticians confirmed their preliminary data from the end of May on Tuesday.

Nonetheless, the news was not reflected in stock performance, and both stocks slumped more than 3%.

European markets fell today while bond yields rose as central bankers' comments fueled concerns about drastic measures to fight inflation despite growing recession risks.

As many experts continue to #aktienmarkt still facing difficult times, it could make sense to look at dividend stocks for the remainder of 2022. Dividend stocks are somewhat less growth driven, but they provide a relatively stable cash flow. Over the long term, dividend stocks actually outperform the $SP500TR.

A well-known portfolio with a high proportion of dividend stocks belongs to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust. Three dividend stocks in the portfolio are Waste Management ($WM (+1.67%)), Caterpillar ($CAT (+2.29%)) and Walmart ($WALM34).
