The new Trade Republic credit card (Debit Visa) offers a maximum of €15 per month with 1% cashback on a minimum €50 savings plan. I would have to spend a total of €1,550 per month for this. So I get a maximum of two free kebabs after buying at least 221 kebabs. Do you find this offer attractive? Is it a good deal? 🥙💳💵

I've had a Crypto.com Visa Card (Ruby Steel) for 2 years and get 1% cashback.
You have to look at it this way, you spend the money, with or without cashback, but this way you get 1% off everything (including pet food)
Why not take the 1% with you?

Edit: If you put €10 into a $SPYI every month for 30 years, you'll end up with around €8300 in today's purchasing power, adjusted for inflation.
That's 1100 kebabs or something... 😅

Edit 2: A little thought experiment, imagine your current card provider were to charge you 1% more for every purchase, you would certainly go on the barricades and change providers.
So if it's rational to switch providers when the cost is 1% higher, then it's also rational to switch providers when the cashback is 1%.
Or am I making a mistake here? 🤔

I think it's only an advantage, now I can transfer my entire salary to the TR clearing account and so my money, which I have to spend on food, petrol, etc. anyway, works for me for longer and takes the 4% interest with it in the meantime. I have strictly separated my money that is in the clearing account in PP into savings/investment/"normal money". So there is no risk of spontaneous purchases. The 1% cashback is then added on top. Top for me!

I think the €50 savings plan condition is silly and the €15 limit is particularly silly. Children's nonsense.

I'd rather eat two kebabs less a month

Absolutely no added value! Only a link to the TR clearing account. 👎🏽

Of course, everyone has to decide for themselves...personally, I think the offer is good. Create a €50 savings plan and €65 is invested, plus the 4% in the clearing account! Furthermore, this offer also puts other brokers under pressure and so we all benefit directly or indirectly at some point.

I still have a second savings bank account for leisure expenses, which I will cancel as soon as I have the TR card, then I will save the fee for the card

1% or not 🤷🏾‍♂️ plus 4% on the settlement account. I don't know why this is being talked about so badly by some 🤷🏾‍♂️
