Great fundamental analysis! @ccf Nevertheless: Why not a Samsung position? In my opinion, it is at least on a par with Samsung.

@General_T_Regnery For me, Samsung is a very good hardware manufacturer in terms of displays, smartphones, SSDs, RAMs, etc.. It is not for nothing that they are suppliers for almost all sizes in the industry. Apple also uses Samsung displays, for example. Personally, I find that, like many in the industry, it then simply lacks the appropriate software. I don't want to start an "Android vs. iOS" debate. Both have advantages and disadvantages. But there are reasons why Apple manages to satisfy its customers by seamlessly integrating all products (iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, services) and Samsung does not. Apple not only supplies the hardware, but also the individual software for all products.

Samsung produces everything from cell phones, tablets, notebooks, headphones, smartwatches, but also TVs, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, vacuum cleaners, microwaves. They have SO much and in really excellent quality. The biggest difference to Apple is that Samsung acts modestly and does not stir the big advertising drum as well as immense prices demanded from the customer. Samsung sees itself as a company of everyday life and not luxury products that wants to make life easier all around.

@General_T_Regnery You can look at it this way or if you turn it the other way around: Apple manages to charge significantly higher prices than Samsung 😉 clearly Apple's marketing is very peculiar and special but if the products were not good, then the house of cards would have collapsed a long time ago.

Apple advertises performance that the average consumer will never need in his life. Advantage for Apple: few complaints regarding performance and endurance, if not 100% as advertised, because hardly used and on the other hand larger profit margins 🚀

@General_T_Regnery Yes, it's like so often in life: people buy according to the motto "better to have than to have". Hardly anyone will use the performance of the iPhone 13 all the time, BUT: what about in 5 years? You can confidently use the iPhone 13 without worrying about it being too slow. In this respect, the advertised performance can also be seen as a promise for the future.

If only Apple would be so sustainable with regard to the environment in other areas (see lightening cable, included charging cable in the purchase box) 🤭 The main thing is profit and then comes the customer 😁 By the way: My phone model series 2015 still works passably as a replacement phone. Can not complain there

@General_T_Regnery haha now you go into detail: from "what advantages does Apple have?" to "marketing" to "sustainability". Of course it's not perfect, but in my opinion Apple already does a lot for sustainability (recycled materials, CO2 neutrality). But of course the point is not ideal and I would also like an iPhone with USB-C, especially since the iPad also has USB-C 😅

They deliberately refuse to do so, as this would mean the loss of an entire profit segment with sales, service and repair.

@General_T_Regnery sure, but it's not like Apple now makes 10% of its revenue selling Lightning cables 😅

But I wouldn't be too keen on Apple's own software either.... Firstly: Until a few years ago, Apple itself didn't have its own processors. Secondly: Instead of designing a universal chip for ALL Apple customers that can do EVERYTHING, they do WHAT? They open up a whole product range with chips for beginners, amateurs, professionals etc.. Why? It's not customer-friendly to get along with the performance of a chip... That really runs through them like a red thread
