Your today's news on Henkel $HEN (+0.54%)

Henkel earnings slump 18.5 percent

Henkel is under pressure from rising material and logistics costs. The maker of Persil and Pritt increased sales by 8.9 percent to 10.9 billion euros in the first half of the year under its own steam.

By contrast, earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) fell dramatically by 18.5 percent and Henkel's adjusted profit was around 1.2 billion euros. The Düsseldorf-based company said its adjusted Ebit margin fell to 10.7 percent from 14.4 percent in the first half of 2021.

Sales performance in the first six months was above previous forecasts for the full year in an unusually difficult environment, Chief Executive Officer Carsten Knobel said in the company statement.
