Dividend portfolio

Dear Community,

what do you think about $MO (-0,41%) ? I do think that it is a good stock and investigated it a bit. I figured out that it could cost roughly 85 dollars in a year or two.

I’m totally newbie analysing the value of stocks. I considered the last 7 years’ EPS, change in revenue, dividend growth and some ratios.

There’s only one thing that I don’t understand. Its book value is negative. How can it be that bad? I checked some other stocks and this was outstanding.

You can't predict the behaviour of stocks right now. Just look at the price targets for tesla from jpmorgan and morgan stanley. one has 200 %, the other 50 %.

Also you are buying american cigarettes. Look at the bigger picture. Can people afford cigs (expensive) in an inflationary economy?
@capital_captain_2126 Thanks for your comment. You’re right. These days the market is really volatile.

I see that Tesla is a growth stock, it has a wide range of growth, hence the big gap between the two numbers.

Altria is an old company which pays dividend for decades and in my opinion has a healthy economy.

Its price might fell down because of the lack of purchases thus the decrease in revenue but history shows that it rebounced every single time.
@Capital_captain_2126 there is always money for smoking, then less is eaten, drives away the appetite anyway 😆

@zkEVM stocks don't go up if a company's customer base stagnates

@value_hunter_1664 it just shows that even wallstreet analysts don't know wtf is going on. obviously tesla is an extreme example, you are correct about that. buying in on a single stock is an actual gamble right now, if you *really* want stocks then atleast look into etfs. the market we are in for the foreseeable future is disruptive and you can't use historic performance to justify decisions right now if they aren't backed by both concrete recent evidence under trump and a devent grasp of the sector
