Introduction to Waste Management

attachment

A few years ago, I came across this platform and met

@Simpson

—back then, I was still clearly focused on dividend investing. Through this exchange, I

$UKW (-0,77%) and bought the stock.

The position is currently down about 20 percent. While the ongoing dividend mitigates the paper loss, it doesn’t change the fact that the investment hasn’t yet delivered the price performance I’d hoped for.

Current purchase

$WM (+1,15%) Management—triggered by Homer. The hope is that this position will prove to be a stable component of the portfolio over the long term and that “the Oracle” will pay off for us.

Waste Management, Inc. (WM) is the leading U.S. waste management company (collection, recycling, landfills) headquartered in Houston, Texas. The stock is traded on the NYSE and is included in the S&P 500.

3–5-Year Growth Trend: Stable, single-digit to low double-digit EPS growth driven by pricing power, efficiency, and recycling/energy initiatives. Free cash flow growth has recently been very strong (+35% in Q2, up to +151% YoY).

WM is considered a reliable dividend payer with a defensive profile and moderate but steady dividend increases.

Technical Analysis (SMA):

50-day SMA: $227.33

200-day SMA: $223.68

Price (224.21) is just below the 50-day line and slightly above the 200-day line → neutral to slightly weak momentum in the short term, intact uptrend in the medium term.
