I don't quite understand the logic. Buying on the ex-day means there is no dividend. Doesn't that somehow add up?

@trade_commander_2498 The price today is reduced by the September distribution, so there are more shares for the same money.
There would still be a dividend for shares bought yesterday, but in the short term that would only mean getting part of the investment back a week later, minus tax.

Ah ok. Tax is a point. Had previously tried to buy before the extag to collect the dividend. Thanks for the broader perspective and the explanation

@trade_commander_2498 Apart from the tax, I would have just under 1% of the money I wanted to invest in the ETF back in the clearing account in a week. What do I do with it then? Buy another 2 shares individually?
It's just a small optimization to wait until the ex-date.
