Pfizer Exceeds Expectations

Here's the hot stuff from Pfizer
$PFE (+0,23%) (NYSE: PFE) Q2 2026 Earnings Release, delivered fresh on August 4, 2026, before the U.S. markets opened:

🚀 Top-line performance & non-COVID segment drive growth

Pfizer beat Wall Street’s revenue expectations in the second quarter of 2026 thanks to strong demand for newly launched drugs and acquisitions:

Total revenue: Reached $15.0 billion (operating +1% YoY), significantly exceeding analysts’ estimates of ~$14.45 billion.

Excluding COVID products (Comirnaty & Paxlovid): Operating revenue grew by +5% YoY.

Newly launched & acquired products: Grew on an operating basis by +18% YoY .

🔮 Profitability, Special Charges & Efficiency Initiative

Pfizer clearly beat expectations on adjusted earnings, while one-time items weighed on GAAP earnings:

Adjusted Diluted EPS: Reached $0.77 (compared to $0.78 in the same quarter last year) and significantly beat the consensus estimate of $0.68!

GAAP earnings: Reports a net loss of -0.04 USD per share , primarily due to $4.3 billion in non-cash impairments (non-cash intangible asset impairments).

New Cost-Cutting Program: Pfizer announces an expansion of its cost optimization program and aims for an additional $2.5 billion in net savings by 2029.

🤖 Revenue Forecast Upgrade

Thanks to strong momentum in its operating business, CEO Albert Bourla is raising the revenue target for the full year 2026:

FY 2026 revenue forecast raised: Raised by $500 million at the midpoint to $60.5 to $62.5 billion (previously $59.5–$62.5 billion).

FY 2026 Adjusted Diluted EPS reaffirmed: Remains in the range of $2.80 to $3.00 (which absorbs, among other things, charges related to Innovent Biologicstransaction).

⚡ 💡 Jack’s take

Pfizer is proving that the transition away from purely COVID-driven one-time gains is succeeding! Revenue of $15.0 billion, an 18% increase in operating profit from core growth drivers, and a significant EPS beat ($0.77 vs. $0.68 consensus) underscore the operational turnaround. With its raised revenue guidance and a refined cost-cutting program, Pfizer is strengthening the foundation for sustainable growth and securing its generous dividend!

Any mention of dividends?

@ZeissJessy No explicit indication. However, the upgraded outlook and the announced cost cuts suggest that the current dividend policy can and will be maintained. If the company were to realign its dividend policy, today would have been an appropriate time to make an announcement to prepare the market.
