MSCI Turkey

After the arrest of İmamoğlu and the sell-off in $TUR (+0,74%) in. In short, the thought was that the reaction was somewhat exaggerated, Turkey is a young country with a lot of potential, participation in the reconstruction in neighboring Syria, dissolution of the PKK and thus free money that previously flowed into the fight against terrorism.

Of course there is a political risk, but in my opinion a lot of this has already been priced in.

I would be interested in your opinion on this. Do you also have a country bet?

Has made 20% since 2006 - even Olaf Scholz with his savings account laughs at that 😉

@jkbsmn92 You're absolutely right - especially with an ETF that I want to hold for the long term, the long-term view is more important to me. But maybe it really is an absolute future region...

Have you only priced in the political risk, or have you also looked at the currency risk and inflation in Turkey? That is the real yield killer...

@TomTurboInvest Inflation is falling again, I agree with you about the currency risk, but it should also subside with stabilization.

@jkbsmn92 well, is falling again 😅
From the current 35% to a forecast 25% for 2026 and 20% for 2028
But if you have that on your screen, then that's ok anyway
greece or italy are more interesting in my opinion

Theoretically yes, if inflation on the trk lira were not so high.

The basic idea is understandable. Have you studied the historical valuation ratios for Turkey and compared them with current ones?
@Epi in detail, but I follow developments in Turkey and general reports on the economy there.
