This French stock quietly rewards patient shareholders

attachment

Air Liquide ($AI (+1,72%) ) is already in my portfolio, and I recently saw the 10:1 free-share allocation notification 🔔

It made me look deeper into its shareholder policy: free shares, loyalty bonus, and a long-term mindset that rewards patience.

I’ll share more posts like this as I learn and build my portfolio.

Where are the free pyjamas? Wait no, that was a different stock 😉

Thanks for the info on Air Liquide. It's an unusual bonus program.

The free shares are price neutral. The share price simply adjusts down. The dividend comes off the price on the ex date too, so none of it creates value. The clever bit that everyone talks about the loyalty bonus, but not about who funds that.

@Yoshika Exactly, it doesn’t create value instantly. The price adjusts mechanically.
My point is more about the long-term effect: if the company keeps growing, dividends accumulate, and free shares add future dividend rights, it can contribute to a snowball effect over time.
So not instant value creation, but a long-term compounding mechanism.

The loyalty bonus only applies to registered shares. After two years you can switch your shares for loyalty shares that have a different ISIN.

If you buy the shares through normal means, you will most likely not profit. I bought mine via their own shareholder programme, which also helps me with not paying the French social security taxes on the dividends. But you have to register an account there etc.
