I think Ecolab is better.
It's my biggest single stock.
And Veralto is also very strong,
with a huge moat.

@AE23 That's interesting. I'm new to the water stocks sector—isn't the valuation a bit high? How do you see the growth potential?

@stucky8 Which of the two? 🤣
Both are highly valued.
And rightly so.
These companies have very wide moats.
At Ecolab alone, revenue in the CoolIT division rose by 100 percent last year. Data centers consume enormous amounts of water for cooling. Ecolab is strongly positioned in this area with its intelligent water management solutions. Aside from that, its water treatment chemicals are used in nearly every wastewater treatment plant and water treatment facility.
Added to this is pest control in the water sector and the ultrapure water division, which is needed for diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, precision electronics, and chip production.
The fact that the dividend is growing at a double-digit rate annually speaks volumes.
Stricter environmental regulations worldwide (keyword: PFAS / “forever chemicals”) are forcing industrial and municipal utilities to make massive investments in water treatment and quality control. Veralto dominates this sector with its analytics, powered by proprietary AI, sensors, and process monitoring.

@stucky8
So if you
have Xylem,
Ecolab, and Veralto in your portfolio,
then you have the global industry leaders in the water infrastructure chain—from pipes, pumps, and control systems to cleaning chemicals, analytics, and quality control.
That’s all you need.
All three are well-established and not susceptible to disruption. Every wastewater treatment plant and water treatment facility works with them.
And when it comes to AI, they’re also huge hidden champions
