ETF decision open: Defense, top-up or alternatives?

attachment

These are my current ETF positions

I would now like to invest a further €2,000. I have a choice:

  • the iShares Global Aerospace & Defense ETF $DFND (-2,07%)
  • the VanEck Defense ETFs $DFEN (-1,71%)
  • or an increase in an existing position.
  • or other ideas that would make thematic or strategic sense - please provide a brief explanation.

Alternatively: Does anyone have any other ideas on which direction it would make sense to expand - with a brief explanation?

You could implement the factors momentum, quality, value and small caps. Because it contributes to diversification and increases the expected return. 😘

I would also stay away from thematic ETFs, it is well researched that private investors usually buy them at the peak.

@TotallyLost What titles would be your exact suggestions?

@TheRealWeihnachten I would take a look at $XDEQ for quality and $XDEM for momentum.
For small caps and value it is much more difficult.

You can of course also buy a multifactor ETF like $GERD

But it's best to take a look at the whole topic of factor investing first, the ETFs aren't going anywhere. 😘

@TotallyLost What do you think would be a better idea to top up $EMXC or buy $ZPRS

@TheRealWeihnachten I wouldn't buy either 😅
For me, EM without China is the same as the world without the USA
And I would always buy small caps in combination with value like at $AVWS or $ZPRV or $ZPRX
