Have you ever seen the paper?

$BOAT An ETF that tracks shipping companies and logistics.

I have had various shipping companies on my watchlist for some time now and some of them also have small positions in my portfolio - e.g. $FRO (+2,96%) (Tanker crude), $TRMD A (+3,61%) (Tanker product), $HAFNI (+0,74%) (Tanker product). All of them currently have insanely high dividends and, of course, there is always the thought that in a volatile and cyclical market a shipping company can sometimes be destroyed.

In the case of the above-mentioned paper, however, you would have a whole bunch of such companies and still an insanely high dividend. 🧨🗯

What are your thoughts on this?

0.69% TER that's god awful, you're better off owning shares yourself

@Jo_Wolf that is high indeed. I just wonder whether it would not be saver to invest in a bundle of shipping companies rather then pick 2 or 3 individual ones.

What I would be critical of is the low and currently dwindling volume of the ETF?

Where is the ETF on offer? Unfortunately not at DKB (I find it quite interesting).

@Khlmysee I haven't bought it yet. So I haven't tried it with my Comdirect either. Maybe the ETF is not traded in Germany and you have to buy it via a foreign exchange. Which would of course make the whole thing more complicated.

@NichtRelevant seems to be a bit more complicated: https://sonicshares.com/boat/

I am a broker at Sparkasse and the ETF is available there in any case...

@KleinAnleger1 I'd rather chop off one of my hands before I go to the savings bank. 🤣
