Steve Chang, general manager of BYD South Africa , announced plans to almost double the size of its dealership network in South Africa next year to increase its market share in the country, according to Reuters.
The number of BYD COMPANY dealers in South Africa will increase to about 20 by the end of this year and is expected to expand to about 30-35 next year.
In addition to BYD COMPANY, other Chinese car manufacturers such as GAC GROUP , Chery and GWMOTOR are also present in the South African market.
BYD $1211 (-0,87%) entered the South African market in 2023 and currently has about 13 dealers offering a total of six models on the local market.
