Hello my dears,
Even the big biotech stocks can be fun. Especially when there is growth and a great dividend yield. That's why I'm staying invested. And enjoy the time while other investors consider whether to buy or sell Novo 🙈.
It's not just the small biotechs that can pull away dynamically. The breakout announcement for the Gilead Sciences share could not have been better timed
While I generally like to look at volatile small caps in the biotech sector, I focused on a "sleeping giant" in January: Gilead Sciences.
In meiner Analyse von Anfang Januar war das Setup glasklar: After years of bottoming out and a healthy consolidation at a high level, the stock delivered a wonderful breakout setup. The procyclical buy signal when the USD 128.70 mark was exceeded was immediately seized upon.
The result? Just a few weeks later, readers can look back on a share price increase of around 20 % at its peak. Gilead has clearly outperformed heavyweights such as Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk in this period!
Number check: Fundamental confirmation
The figures published yesterday evening for the fourth quarter of 2025 underpin my bullish assessment:
- Earnings beat: With adjusted earnings of USD 1.86 per share, Gilead clearly beat expectations (consensus: USD 1.81).
- HIV dominance: Sales in the core HIV segment rose strongly. The "gamechanger" Yeztugo (HIV prevention) in particular is showing impressive momentum.
- Dividend bonus: As icing on the cake, management announced an increase in the quarterly dividend to USD 0.82. (@Dividendenopi , @SAUgut777 )
Although the share price fell briefly after a slightly more cautious outlook for 2026, it is precisely such setbacks that often offer new opportunities.
