Have you taken a look at Torm's chart? They've already taken off.

Almost 100% in a year—that really makes you wonder how much longer this will last. In general, I find shipping company stocks very exciting, but it’s a roller-coaster ride, since business performance depends heavily on the political landscape and global hotspots.

Torm, as the largest position in the portfolio, is definitely a bold move. Perhaps you could explain to us why you decided on such a heavy weighting and what your plans are for this position.

Here’s what I’ve been thinking. I’ve been buying Torm since 2024 because it has a solid business model with strong margins. Petroleum products are the cornerstone of the modern world and will continue to be so in the future. Torm was actually supposed to transport naphtha from Asia to Europe and had a great contract in the works with a major German company. Other shipping companies were more expensive. At first, Torm’s stock price fell, so I bought more shares through early 2026. Then the Hormuz crisis hit, and I wondered when Torm’s stock would rise. Torm also has a modern fleet and can call at the high-priced ports for naphtha and diesel. In general, I’ve missed out on many 10x opportunities because I sold too early. For example, I sold Rolls-Royce before the Ukraine crisis and also sold Bombardier.

@222 You’ve done a lot of research on the company, and in principle, the investment has paid off so far.
Of course, the question is always when the right time is to exit. A tenfold return is a very ambitious goal, and if you want to achieve that, you’ll have to take the risk that the stock price will fall again once the conflict in the Gulf is over.
A classic middle ground would, of course, be a partial sale or “withdrawing” the initial investment. That way, it won’t hurt as much if the price crashes, and on the other hand, you can let the remaining position run its course with relative peace of mind, since you can only stand to gain from there.

I have $TNK. For both, the outlook naturally depends on future charter rates.

I’ve been looking quite closely at tanker stocks for the past few months. In the short term—that is, over the next two quarters or so—I see $FRO and $DHT as the frontrunners. That’s because they primarily transport crude oil. First, the oil has to get to the refineries. And once it’s been processed there, $TRMD A comes into play. They transport the processed products onward.
But all of them are currently benefiting from sharply risen freight rates and/or long-term contracts well above the long-term average. Consequently, high quarterly dividends of 4–7% in November and December are very likely. Extrapolated, that’s about 15–30% per year—provided the bottleneck in the Strait of Hormuz persists.
It’s also important to distinguish between spot charters and time charters—that is, ships chartered on a long-term versus short-term basis.

I have all three in my portfolio, and a few more besides...
