I have now added Telekom to my portfolio as a small dividend supplement!

Let's see if the quarterly figures tomorrow are good or bad! If there is a setback, I might buy another 50 shares!

Why German Telekom and not the US version? Because otherwise more taxes but less capital gains?

@BockaufDividenden I looked at both options and then decided in favor of the German one! I was actually interested in having a strong defensive stock in my portfolio! The dividend is also tax-free, if I've understood everything correctly 🙂

@BavarianLion Only as long as you hold the shares. If you sell them, the dividend tax is payable retrospectively. But otherwise tax-free distribution, that is correct.

@Investor-College I've actually already had my eye on the German Telekom share.....immens just a pity that German shares usually only pay out 1x :((( Would love to have more German dividend shares with 4x payout.

@BockaufDividenden Yes, I can understand that. But please never base your portfolio on when and how often a company pays out dividends. That would be the completely wrong criterion.
Other criteria are decisive for selecting dividend stocks - 12 in my opinion.

@Investor-College I'm not that much of a dividend hunter anyway! Some stocks like Allianz or Telekom simply bring stability to the portfolio! Otherwise I'm very strongly oriented towards US tech (Alphabet, Amazon, NVIDIA,...)

@BavarianLion You're probably also a lot younger than me. In that respect, you're doing everything right, because that's how I invested for a long time too.
Now I've rebuilt over the years and feel more comfortable with a regular "income" that will now easily close my pension gap.
Everything in its own time, focusing more on growth at a young age is a good plan.

@Investor-College You are absolutely right! I'm 33, have been investing since I was 18! However, I sold everything at the beginning of 2024 and took a year off for personal reasons (parents ill, separation...)! Now got back in just in time for the customs crash in April! I'm very happy with my performance so far 🙂
