Aug 26 / Trump vs. Experts – Part 2 Fed Governor Cook Fired – You Better Not Tell Trump the Truth

The job-killing spree of President Trump continues. After sacking the official behind the “horrible” labor statistics a few weeks ago, now a fierce opponent of his policies has apparently lost her post. Fed Governor Cook had repeatedly voiced concerns about the impact of tariffs on the economy. She shouldn’t have done that. We all know how Trump deals with his enemies.

If the president takes issue with you, there are two options. Either you completely surrender to him and shower his genius with praise – think of the Intel CEO – or you do your job objectively and risk stirring up the wrath of the orange man. Honestly, at this point, the whole saga seems ridiculous. How is it possible that a president can just fire whoever he wants for doing their job – and nobody cares?

The silence from Republicans is the real scandal here. They’re the only ones who could check Trump, but they’ve decided to look the other way. Democrats, on the other hand, have completely resigned from the political stage and surrendered to the antisemitic, U.S.-hating, blue-haired college gang that runs around chanting about a conflict they couldn’t even point out on a map. But let’s not drift off. The bigger problem right now isn’t the Democrats – it’s Trump. He has absolute power over the economy, the Fed, and Congress, and no one dares to stop him.

If Democrats can recover and return to a more center-leaning rhetoric – with more moderate faces like Josh Shapiro, or once upon a time, the Clintons – Republicans are finished in the midterms, and almost certainly in 2028. The only reason GOP panic hasn’t set in yet is because the other side looks so hopeless. But make no mistake: Republicans have lost control over the self-declared hero sitting in the Oval Office.

And I say this with a heavy heart. I was genuinely optimistic after Trump’s reelection. I thought we’d see an economy-friendly, tax-attractive administration that finally strikes down some of the out-of-control wokeness. Instead, since January, we’ve gotten the opposite. One man consolidating power, silencing opposition, and treating governance like a personal fiefdom.

Let’s see how this all plays out. But here’s a quick tip: if you’ve got bad news, don’t tell the president. He’ll blame you, and your next station will be working the drive-thru at McDonald’s.

Well written. Opposition in the Republican Party was already demolished in an "align or politically perish" in the Trump's first term. It has become a personal party and it will take time before something happens. Many of them are profiting from the current state of things
