Global Payments (Ticker: GPN) is a U.S. payment service provider; the market is currently taking a more positive view of the stock again after Morgan Stanley upgraded it to “Overweight” on July 20, 2026, and set a price target of $100. At the same time, the stock recently rose to a 6-month high of around EUR 71 and was reported to be trading higher in U.S. markets, indicating fresh momentum.

Net Asset Value (NAV) / Book Value: Global Payments has a solid financial foundation. With total assets of approximately $53.34 billion and liabilities of $30.45 billion (as of the end of 2025), shareholders’ equity stands at approximately $22.89 billion. With 273.54 million shares outstanding, this results in a book value of approximately 83.68 USD per share. This corresponds to a price-to-book ratio (P/B) of 0.83—meaning the stock is trading below its book value.

Assessment

Fundamentally, according to current market reports, Global Payments appears to be a stock with solid revenue growth, rising margins, and improved sentiment. However, I lack reliable, up-to-date financial metrics here to conduct a comprehensive stock analysis based on P/E ratio, EPS, EBIT margin, dividend, price performance, fair value, NAV, and RSL/momentum.

Fair Value: Analysts (including Wells Fargo and Barclays) currently see the price target in a range between $81.00 and $95.00, which signals some upside potential.

Preliminary Conclusion

Trend: Valued as somewhat attractive to fair, provided the margin trend continues.

Risk: Payment service providers are often heavily tied to growth, integration success, and valuation fluctuations.

Momentum: Positive in the short term, supported by analyst comments and new highs.

EPS (Earnings Per Share): For the full year 2026, management expects adjusted EPS to range between $13.80 and $14.00. Already in the first quarter of 2026, adjusted EPS stood at $2.96 (a 10% increase year-over-year). Note: Unadjusted GAAP EPS is temporarily negative due to write-downs and integration costs from the Worldpay acquisition (–$6.59 in Q1).

P/E ratio (price-to-earnings ratio): Based on GAAP earnings, the P/E ratio is just under 21. However, using the expected adjusted EPS of approximately $13.90 (forward P/E ratio) yields a very attractive figure of approximately 5.6 ($77.80 / $13.90).

EBIT Margin: Global Payments is highly profitable in its core operating business. The adjusted operating margin rose by 110 basis points in the first quarter of 2026 to a strong 39.9%.

Dividend

Dividend per share: $0.25 per quarter, which amounts to $1.00 on an annualized basis.

Dividend yield: At the current share price, this corresponds to a yield of approximately 1.28%.

The dividend provides a small additional return. In terms of capital allocation, the company is currently focusing more on share buybacks (a $500 million buyback program is underway) and reinvestment in growth areas.
