This will not develop in the near future the way the 🍊 would like it to. Hit it once and then put the burden on the oil industry to keep the billions flowing. The next few weeks and months should now focus on stabilizing the situation and creating framework conditions so that companies can build up confidence. But for him, this is probably already ticked off and he is already dreaming of polar bears and penguins. And is secretly wondering who will finance this

@Dividendenopi I think it's too short-sighted to dismiss this as mere daydreaming. This 'hitting out' is often a calculated means of forcing the other side to the negotiating table. Whether you like the style is one thing, but the strategy behind it is usually to first break up hardened structures (as in the oil industry) in order to dictate new conditions.

Anyone who knows me can read between the lines that I regard dreaming as a serious possibility. And I don't like this kind of heavy-handed interference in other people's affairs, neither in my private life nor on a geopolitical level. But you also have to admit that he has brought a lot of "momentum" to many things and many countries have come out of their slumber, which I don't think is a bad thing

@Dividendenopi Well judged. I think he wanted to hit the ground running in Venezuela and open up the market quickly. He assumed that the oil companies would jump on it, but that wasn't the case, as the legal framework has not been clarified at all. Unlike Trump, the companies have to abide by the rules, draw up balance sheets and weigh up the risks. And they have already gotten bloody noses in Venezuela of all places.

The problem with Trump is (among other things😅) that he wants quick and easy solutions without investing too much work in one thing.
But that doesn't work. How is a US company supposed to invest if a hostile government is still in power in the country? If there is still fighting going on. If you don't know how your own investments are legally and economically protected from foreign access - whether by Venezuela or your own US government.
