Oatly

I am convinced of the $OTLY (+4,46%) long-term and have set up a savings plan.

Reasons include:

  • Trend towards dairy free.
  • Lifestyle, luxury, especially in times when greater luxury is unattainable.
  • Almost every café uses oatly if oat milk.
  • Good design, which is important for a product like this (which café would put an Alpro next to a La Marzocco?).
  • Strong brand.
  • Great potential also in America and China (Matcha etc.).

I was invested at the end of 2021 and sold after 2 years with -80%. Hope you have more success with them. Also bought for your reasons back then 🥲😅

Me too. I'm very bullish!

I don't understand why oats with water and a few enzymes are so much more expensive to produce than milk... and I pay less at the discount store for a no-name product with VAT and all the trimmings than Oatly states as the production price

@Crovax83 compare the products in handling. I can't get any of the discounter alternatives (not even dm) to froth up like oatly. And the fact that real milk is cheaper is because it is heavily subsidized (see article in Handelsblatt). You can ask yourself the same question about iPhones or other branded products.

@jkb92 Yes, if the product is better, then I'm happy to pay more. But Oatly somehow manages to enforce its price to a certain extent, but not to pocket the whole thing as a margin, because their costs are absurdly high. And that's not because of marketing ect. At least that's what I know, unfortunately I can't read the Hanfelsblatt article because of the paywall

@Crovax83 that was a problem for a long time, but now it seems to be improving, I read there.

I thought about it too. But I don't think the future and the current business are very promising - but good luck to you. I am happy to be wrong for once ;) For me, the company analysis of "what does the world cost" was decisive:

@Shareholder I'll take a look, thank you very much.
