First dividend 2025 & portfolio adjustment?

Unfortunately, this year's best alarm clock came a little late.

Due to my move to Zurich, I have not yet been able to invest anything this year. This hasn't bothered me due to the highly valued markets, but in the current situation my fingers are starting to itch.

I am also questioning the role of the $FGEQ (-5,26%) in my portfolio. Unfortunately, it is performing worse than my $VWRL (-4,62%) and is not bringing the hoped-for reduction in volatility to my portfolio and the difference in dividends is still marginal.

I am now flirting with the $JEGP (-3,59%) as a 1:1 replacement for $FGEQ (-5,26%) in order to achieve even more dynamic and consistent dividends to complement the $VWRL (-4,62%) and the $TDIV (-4,93%) out.

What are your thoughts on this? The weighting in the portfolio would be 20%.

I have that too and I'm definitely keeping it. However, I have supplemented it with the $JEGP you mentioned. Simply because multiple sources of income are also nice.

@Metis Thank you! Why did you include it as an addition from the allocation perspective?

@TaubeSmash As @Go_Dividend also wrote, it is not a conventional ETF in the "classic" sense.
If you pursue a dividend strategy, you have to live with a little loss of growth. As long as the thing doesn't go completely into the red permanently or doesn't show any growth at all.

$FGEQ we also have and are keeping the same. We have also added a few covered call etfs. We almost never sell etfs, but simply hold them. Unless the performance is really subterranean or the costs simply no longer fit.

@Robtherob ? I don't understand the context. What is meant is $FGEQ.

@Maveric2005 Hi Steffen, you meant that you still want to keep the $FGEQ exactly as or as well as? What do you still hold or what are your thoughts?

Ah, now I understand what you mean. I mean that we rarely sell ETFs completely. The $FGEQ is a good divi ETF if you follow the strategy (in combination with the $TDIV ). We invest in new ETFs from time to time, often when a certain amount has simply flowed in. If a similar ETF comes out that is simply cheaper, for example, we continue to save in it and simply leave the old one behind. Only if an ETF really gets out of line and the returns are no longer suitable is it thrown out (rarely the case).

What do we hold? Normal msci world, stoxx 600, emerging markets, covered calls on nasdaq and global, dividend leaders. So not too wild but with a dividend background.

By no means replace it, but why not build up an additional position as a supplement.

@GoDividend Thanks for the feedback. Why not replace it?

@TaubeSmash you would go from a "normal" ETF complett the position into a covered call etf-therefore only as an additional position

I find this question really interesting. I'm thinking about upgrading my $FGEQ but the performance doesn't feel good.

@Robtherob How high have you balanced the $FGEQ and what else does your depot look like?

@TaubeSmash I would generally like to shift profits from my ETFs (NASDAQ, S&P500) and later crypto into something less volatile. A dividend ETF has a certain appeal, I can cover costs in old age without selling and pass it on.

It is the only ETF in my dividend growth portfolio 🔥In my opinion, the slightly poorer performance can be neglected due to the high personal dividend yield
