Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer announced today new variants of its Praetor business jets, as it seeks to capitalize on sustained global demand for executive aircraft. The company will introduce the Praetor 500E and 600E, featuring upgraded cabin enhancements. These models represent the first evolution of the original Praetor 500 and 600, which were introduced to the market in 2018.
Demand for private jets has remained elevated since the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Embraer secured its largest-ever firm order for business jets from Flexjet, following a major 2023 order from Berkshire Hathaway’s NetJets. Deliveries of the new variants are expected to begin in Q1 2029.
While the move strengthens Embraer’s product portfolio, it stops short of launching an entirely new aircraft platform. Investors continue to speculate about whether the world’s third-largest planemaker will expand into larger jet categories.
