Hello everyone,

what do you think of $BTI (-2,03%) ?

I'm thinking about opening a new position there. It has to be said that the DiviYield is attractive here.

I would like to hear what you think about the future prospects of this company. For example, the minimum age for cigarettes in the UK is to be raised by 1 year every year.

In addition $BTI (-2,03%) is also entering the cannabis business.

@KevinC What do you mean by ADR?

@MarlontotheMoon the "real" share is $BATS. ADRs are US certificates on non-US shares.

@KevinC I also bought the ADR, I was not aware that there are two different ones. Do you think I should sell now and buy the BATS? Is there a disadvantage? Advantage ?

@Alfred16 f the issuing bank or stock exchange goes bankrupt, the ADRs are worthless. ADRs are not tangible assets like shares, but a certificate and therefore a financial product. The issuer can therefore also liquidate the ADRs and thus trigger a forced sale.

If the high yield is the driving force behind a purchase, then I would rather go for a BDC. $ARCC $MAIN $HTGC are the classics, but there are many more.

If it absolutely has to be a tobacco stock, then $BATS would be my first choice, as they are well positioned in tobacco substitutes and already have a certain market position.
