@Ayecaramba256 The weighting of my Allianz position was way too high, and the return is actually pretty good 👍

@hvqo A common mistake is to sell or reduce your winning positions. Why didn't you let the position run and simply build up others going forward to reduce its weighting?

@Ayecaramba256 I just don't have a lot of income since I'm a student, and I'd like to keep my portfolio well-balanced.

@Ayecaramba256 I wouldn't call this result an "error."

@MrKurt89 Selling off is a mistake. And it’s a typical (psychological) one. Many people tend to sell or reduce their holdings in stocks that are performing well and hold onto stocks that are down (precisely because they’re down). Anyone who doesn’t understand this will face ongoing problems and underperform the market significantly.

Then YOU should do that and let the others have their own experiences 😉 It always depends on the individual situation.

@Ayecaramba256 I have to say I completely agree with you, especially in this case.

@Ayecaramba256 But why should I hold onto a position that makes up two-thirds of my portfolio and is also up 230 percent when I can use the proceeds to achieve broader diversification? Besides, I still hold a large portion of Allianz.

@hvqo And how much in taxes did you end up paying?

@MrKurt89 Let them. Still, I'm giving this tip. I don't really care whether people follow it or not;) It's not my money
