Revolut blocks crypto purchases

I am currently buying my cryptos on Revolut X, as the fees are extremely favorable compared to Coinbase. I have now received the following email:

"We would like to inform you that the purchase of cryptocurrencies via Revolut will be temporarily restricted on September 29th. 2025 15:00 GMT for customers in your country will be temporarily restricted.

This change only affects the purchase of cryptocurrencies - all other crypto services, including selling, staking, withdrawals and deposits, will be available as usual.

Why is this happening?

As a regulated company, we must comply with local and EU regulations. This temporary restriction is in response to changes in regulatory requirements and ensures that we remain compliant in all markets in which we operate.

What do I need to do?

You don't have to do anything. We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information. We are working to restore services as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Anyone notice what's going on?

What does that tell us? Not your key Not your coin. Every EU citizen should act immediately and park everything on cold wallets. 🅿️ I was laughed at for this 2-3 years ago. 🤭

@U1F34E Yes, but that's different here. Revolut has its own crypto exchange

@U1F34E That's amazing, I haven't had any problems with DKB so far.

I bought my first ether back then for 300 euros a piece. But after 2 weeks I realized what nonsense it was and switched to Kraken.
