Reallocate gold

We are currently in an uncertain political and economic phase, which is why many investors are currently investing in gold. That is why I am now selling part of my gold holdings $DE000EWG0LD1 (-1,48%) and will invest it broadly diversified in the stock market ($IWDA (-1,76%) , $MEUD (-0,96%) , $EIMI) (-1,19%) in the stock market.

What is your opinion on this idea?

It's hard to say without knowing your strategy or your current asset allocation.

Selling gold to rebalance? Why not? Selling gold to get a good feeling in an otherwise red portfolio? Probably not.

@Epi Yes, I have actually been planning to reduce my gold holdings for some time now. At the moment, gold makes up just under 25% of my total assets. Accordingly, this seems to be a good opportunity at the moment

@Niels411 What is your price target for gold? I bought it in 2018 and 2019 with a target price of 4500$. I still see some upside potential. So no reason for me to sell in a big way now, except for some rebalancing. 😁

@Epi I would be interested to hear your arguments as to how you arrived at this forecast. After all, that is a price jump of almost 50%

@Niels411 It's been a while. 😁
It was a cycle analysis. I extrapolated the movements of gold in the 70s and 00s into the future. Target: 4500$ 2026/27. It was a risky move when gold was rattling around at 1300$, but now it's slowly becoming realistic.
My plan is to sell bit by bit into the euphoria. It is slowly building up, but it has not yet reached the masses. As soon as all 3 posts here on GQ focus on gold, there will be more selling. That's one reason why I'm part of the psycho club here. 😅
