Apollo Global Management is pursuing an active strategy of diversification and expansion. The alternative asset manager is investing in new market segments such as sports and gaming, while insider activity and institutional rebalancing are also driving activity.
New markets: sports and gaming
The company's strategic initiatives are gaining momentum. Through its subsidiary Apollo Sports Capital, Apollo recently acquired a minority stake in Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC. The transaction, announced on December 8, 2025, also includes the financing of the redevelopment of the stadium and surrounding areas.
Apollo had previously completed two major acquisitions in the gaming sector in July 2025. The company acquired the gaming and digital division of International Game Technology and Everi Holdings for 6.3 billion dollars in cash. These assets were merged into a new, privately held gaming company under the name IGT, which has been under the management of CEO Hector Fernandez since December 2025.
Insider sale and institutional reorganization
Alongside the strategic steps, recent transactions by key individuals and major investors paint a mixed picture. CFO Martin Kelly sold a total of 6,000 shares at an average price of USD 131.41 on December 1, 2025. The transaction value amounted to USD 788,460, which corresponds to a 1.81% reduction in his direct shareholding.
On the institutional side, the Californian pension fund CalPERS reduced its Apollo position by 11.8% in the second quarter of 2025. The fund sold 101,042 shares and now holds 752,182 shares.
Analysts see upside potential
Analyst sentiment remains largely positive. Several firms confirmed or increased their ratings at the end of November 2025:
* TD Cowen reiterated a "buy" rating with a target price of 164 dollars.
* Morgan Stanley upgraded to "Overweight" with a target of 180 dollars.
* Goldman Sachs maintains "Buy" with a target of 155 dollars.
* BMO Capital remains at "Market Perform" with a target of 136 dollars.
The average price target of 15 analysts is 162.85 dollars. According to a Simply Wall St analysis from December 6/7, 2025, the stock is approximately 12.7 percent undervalued, with a fair value of 158.22 dollars compared to a price of 138.13 dollars at the time. The share price has risen by 4.76% in the last seven days, but has been negative since the beginning of the year. The total shareholder return over three years, on the other hand, is 131.27 percent.
The company's continued market positioning will be tested by its participation in a Bank of England stress test, which examines the resilience of the private credit market. Since its inclusion in the S&P 500 in December 2024, the share has also benefited from increased visibility and liquidity.
