Sell position

$O (+0,74%) I would like to sell my entire position here, but I am down just under 10%.

Would you wait for better times or just sell?

Thanks for your tips

If you really want to sell, I would sit out the current crisis. To be honest, I'm on the verge of buying again😄

What is better than monthly div. incl. annual/monthly growth? And then selling in the red?

Many people make the mistake of following the swarm intelligence: "if everyone is selling, I must be too because it must be right"
Wrong! You yourself must have a concept of why you are buying a share and why you are selling it at a certain point in time.
Chasing other investors and the market without knowing why is NOT a concept.

Realty Income's properties have not collapsed nor has RI lowered rents.

Always remember: after panic comes greed on the stock market.

The clever and far-sighted always win - and their profit is ultimately the money that inexperienced and panicky stock market players throw away.

Why do you want to sell the position?

@mimiKa I listened a lot to others at the beginning and only came to this share that way.
I prefer to stick with my etf into which I would also shift all the money.

@Investor187 If you want to switch directly, low prices are not your enemy but your friend. The ETF is estimated to have fallen as much as the share in recent weeks, and the eventual recovery at $O is unlikely to be any faster. If you wait until you are in the black, this is simply a tax disadvantage.

@DoppelSchlechtMinus But then he must also be honest and say that the loss on the share will not benefit him for tax purposes as long as he does not sell any other shares at a profit. This is because any ETF gains cannot be offset in Germany.

@_xempex_ I don't understand the relevance right now... What could he decide better in this situation if he is also worried about the loss pots?

@DoppelSchlechtMinus Because you wrote the following "If you wait until you are in the black, this is simply a tax disadvantage." Theoretically, it would also be a disadvantage now if he sells the share at a loss and then only has ETFs and thus generates a loss now, which is then dragged around until further notice, but is not used up. That was my only concern.

I also sold the share this morning with a 10% loss (holding period 3 years) and will invest the money today or in the next few days in another, much more heavily penalized share, which I hope will perform better. The current focus is on KKR.

I find it incomprehensible to sell a position when the market corrects like this. Sit it out if you don't need the money urgently. At least that's what I would do😁

Then why did you build up a position at all?

I bought more today. Why? Trump wants to get fed to lower interest rates. If that happens, all properties will rise.

@Timok13 I've been reading this for 2 years, nothing has happened.

If you ask such questions, you have no business on the stock market. You should think about a plan before you buy.
A recession seems inevitable in the USA and with it falling interest rates (some rumor that this is Trump's intention because large parts of the government bonds will have to be refinanced in 2026), which will drive up the price of Reits. I would hold.
