WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Aflac Inc. ( AFL) $AFL (+0,05%) on Tuesday reported net income of $1.64 billion for the third quarter of 2025, a significant improvement from a net loss of $93 million in the year-ago quarter. Earnings per share increased to $3.08 from a loss of $0.17 in the same period last year.
Improved investment performance and a stable insurance business led to a 61% increase in total sales to USD 4.74 billion compared to USD 2.95 billion in the same quarter last year.
Operating costs rose by 4 percent to USD 1.31 billion, while the cost of benefits and claims fell by 10 percent to USD 1.44 billion.
