EU promotes new charging stations for electric vehicles

Have you heard about the new charging points? The EU is investing €45 million in an exciting project to create a total of 1,400 new charging points for electric cars and trucks by the end of 2027! 🚗⚡


The energy company E.ON is responsible for this $EOAN (+0,41%)together with its Slovakian subsidiary ZSE and the charging station operator Eldrive. This initiative, known as Drive-E, will make a decisive contribution to the electrification of freight and passenger transportation in Europe.


The new charging points include 430 specially designed for heavy commercial vehicles with a capacity of 350 kilowatts or more. The locations are optimally distributed along important freight routes and will be used for both trucks and cars.


The charging points will be installed at over 250 locations in various countries, including Germany, Austria, Denmark and Italy. E.ON is thus further expanding its e-mobility strategy and demonstrating that the future is electric!
