Intuit with beat and raised forecast -> market says -14%

$INTU (+0,6%) presented its figures yesterday and exceeded expectations.

EPS USD 12.8 instead of USD 12.57 and sales increase by 10% to USD 8.56 bn (expectations just missed). In addition, approx. 17% of FTEs are to be cut.

AI is clearly described here as a tailwind, but the market sees it differently and sends the share on a downward spiral.

I remain invested and am considering buying more. Still a cash machine and AI will only accelerate this. What do you think $INTU (+0,6%) ?

I already bought more yesterday after the close. Not comprehensible, quite honestly. Even increased dividend by 15%. Guidance even raised 😅

The market reaction is absolute bullshit. I'm definitely stocking up here too.🤷🏼‍♂️👍🏻

The bottom in the software sector is not far off. In my opinion, it is safe to build up positions in selected stocks.

I'll wait for all the analyst downgrades first. As with $ADBE at the time, this will unfortunately create pressure. Once they are through, I'll buy, because fundamentally it looks good.

@Michey777 same here; even if I don't care much about analysts' opinions, this could put further short-term pressure on the share

@CaYaRo yes, I don't see any added value in the analyses either. But the funds sometimes act accordingly and therefore I don't have to follow the downward trend. I read through the votes on Bloomberg today and there was already criticism of the figures. Whether this is justified or not remains to be seen, but analysts rarely leave their estimates at +100% compared to the share price....

The market's reaction caught me cold, I was sure that the earnings and guidance would be positive.
That's exactly what happened, but the stock still sold off by double digits. I'm really starting to ask myself why I'm making all this effort when there are so many market movements that I find irrational. Intuit is not the exception, it happens regularly.

Would you prefer @Epi to use its trend-following strategy?
It would save me researching business models, reading reports and pondering for hours.

@BruceBullridge Justified question. Until a few years ago, I also joined in all the fun with the company reports and in the end I couldn't keep up. The fact that you are permanently and systematically at an information disadvantage is frustrating at some point.
Until I tried to switch sides and actively exploit the information disadvantages of most investors. That was behavioral finance and specifically momentum. Saves time and nerves. And brings much more reliable returns. 👍

I was also very surprised and had already bought more. Unfortunately, the position is now too big to buy more. Unfortunately, my first big tranche in 2021 was also at €600😐 so I'll keep my feet still for now, but I also think the reaction is exaggerated. But I thought it would recover this morning rather than go down further. I hope the thing turns around for the next 3 years 😬

You can also simply say that $INTU has established AI in the company to such an extent that they need 17% fewer employees. 😀

Well, growth is just slowing down... that's why. But not understandable as expectations were still clearly beaten + outlook raised...

I recently bought intuit as a trade at €300, and got out again at around €340.
I might buy again today at noon.
