Courageous, are broadly positioned, but the private credit sector, in which they are also active, has also come under fire recently. Especially because of lending in the area of AI infrastructure. However, I don't know to what extent Partners is invested there

@Dividendenopi in relation to infrastructure investments. Less private credit. Roughly the same in both segments. Main business of course private equity. Is a stock on my watch list.

Courageous. It would be a no-go for me if the founders wanted to get involved in politics in this way or set up a party similar to the Maga movement. Similar to Tesla.

@Olli68 I take a completely different view, as the political framework conditions are already completely different. In essence, according to my research, it is about avoiding the adaptation of European requirements as part of a possible agreement with the EU.

For the Swiss, this would mean that parts of EU law would have to be adopted directly. Without direct democracy, as has been the case in Switzerland to date. This undermining of the original Swiss system is being strongly opposed here.

In terms of the other positions of the new party being circulated, it is probably best to classify it as liberal-conservative. This is miles away from Maga, which is exclusively concerned with self-interest and power.

In my view, this is primarily about economic openness, especially towards the USA (and not exclusively towards the EU, as the current efforts tend to present themselves) and adherence to Switzerland's fundamental democratic system.

And, of course, filthy rich business people have an interest in ensuring that things go uphill economically, as broadly as possible. It's no different in Germany, except that these people (or often the wrong ones) are not listened to here.

One of the founders has also signed the Giving Pledge.

@Get_Rich_or_Die_Tryin By Maga movement, I don't mean the economic policy views, but rather the similar rhetoric they use against "foreign judges" and "bureaucrats in Brussels" as Trump uses against Washington ("The Swamp") or international agreements. They are also annoying with their anti-establishment habitus (even though they are multi-billionaires themselves). They celebrate themselves as outsiders who are fighting against the big domestic business associations and the "old" parties.
In my view, it would have been better if they had continued to fight for their positions within the FDP. As it is, it looks like an insulted departure, which, strangely enough, no other business representative has yet joined.
Maybe I just personally don't like this pandering to Trump's environment. In my eyes, that would be even worse than the next bilateral agreements. "Swiss sovereignty with US ties"... no thanks!
