@GordonGekko83 If you take a look at the budgets of the Catholic and Protestant churches, you will see how much they do for society. Countless hospitals, old people's homes, kindergartens, schools, social institutions... are financed to a large extent by church taxes, so I have respect for all those who are aware of this social responsibility... Paying church tax is clearly more than mere faith.

@GHF I agree with you in part, but the church is far from poor. And the church also blackmails the state. The Catholic Church is closing various schools here in the area, because they allegedly have no money. Who knows the financial transactions of the church roughly knows that it is virtually the second "Blackrock". Well, I did not want to stab, but I prefer to donate elsewhere.

@GHF I am of the same opinion. I see how much the church contributes socially in my environment, whether youth or old people's homes, nursing stations, etc., and also in other countries (e.g. Bread for the World). Thus, it is also relatively transparent for me where my contributions go and I am happy to pay the church tax as a social contribution to the community. Even though I would not describe myself as a particularly religious person.
