Dear Community

It's about the share $CSL (-2,58%)

I see a lot of potential in the share

the business model sounds very interesting. They produce building envelopes and are working on energy-efficient buildings. Also a lot for space and aviation that has a lot of expansion potential in the future.💪 Divis increased for 47 years and over 15% growth in the last 5 years

Within the selected period from 01.11.2014 to today, Carlisle Companies has gained 375.1%, which corresponds to an annual return of 16.8%. Carlisle Companies reached its all-time high 21 days ago on 14/10/2024 at a price of USD 480.93. Today the share is trading 12.2% lower at USD 422.26. Definitely strong

Does anyone have an opinion on the share and its valuation?

I don't think they are exactly cheap. But some companies are never or rarely available at a fair price.

You're not getting a bargain at the current price. I see a slight overvaluation.
You have to consider: with a current dividend yield of 0.83% and an annual increase in the dividend of 15%, you will have a personal dividend yield (YoC) of ~ 5.9% after 15 years. Only then will the compound interest effect really come into play. If the company continues to increase its dividends at this rate for another 25 years, your YoC would be 23.8%.

@KevinE but now I think $CSL is super rated

@Memo0606 A P/E ratio of just under 19 sounds pretty good considering the growth. Unfortunately I don't have the time for more intensive analysis at the moment, too much to do, so I can't familiarize myself with new stocks at the moment.

Otherwise I would take a look at it now.

The valuation is definitely much better than last time. However, there is still downside potential in the short term.

If, after an analysis, you come to the conclusion that the company is a good fit, you could invest only 50% of your capital for the time being and add the second half later.

However, volatility is now very high due to the global turmoil and will remain so for some time. In which direction is difficult to predict.

@KevinE thank you
which stocks have you immersed yourself in or are on your shortlist to buy?

@Memo0606

Here are a few values and prices from when I might buy more:

$AVGO <130€
$MSFT < 300€
$O < 50€
$UPS <95€.

I think the market reaction of the companies is sometimes too extreme.

@KevinE should we generally wait to buy shares?
I want to buy $CRH and $PRY, for example, before anything else

@Memo0606 I find it difficult to make general statements. It is difficult to predict how the market will react in the short term, even Buffett does not dare to do so.

At least the major overvaluation of the US market has been reduced to a large extent.

Regarding your selection: how do you see the construction sector in the US in the next 2-5 years? Is the order situation of the two companies good, i.e. do they have enough work for the future?

Take a look at the investor relations.

The CEO of CRH at least assumes "significant public investment in critical infrastructure, combined with increased re-industrialization activity in key non-residential segments" (quote from IR) -> sounds like decent growth in the short term.
