5000€ available

Hi, I have been lent 5000€ for an indefinite period. I can/should invest the money as 0.5% in the current account is a bit low. I am aware that I am taking a risk by investing. However, I would also have the money myself, so I can pay it back at any time.

The question arises as to whether I could invest it in a $VWCE (+0,76%) could I invest it in an investment or perhaps $XEON (+0,01%) ? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments :)

Why should someone lend you money for an indefinite period of time when you would have the money yourself? I would therefore repay the money, take my own money and invest it as widely as possible 🙂

@Artiskon Well then, it's best to triple leverage into oil and then to the moon 🚀

Sounds suspicious and non-transparent.

What does the person expect from you - financially, emotionally, socially? What do you get out of it - apart from work and the risk of personal problems?

$XEON and that's that. If the person wants more, they have to take the risks themselves. 🤷

@Epi officially it's on loan. but i don't think the person would ask for it back or even accept it, so it's more of a gift

@value_seeker_402 That is a risk. Only when the money is officially donated can you do what you want with it. Until then, it's only managed. 🤷

I personally only invest in individual shares, but I have a similar situation with a slightly different starting point.
My mum gave me x amount of money as a present, but as she is quite skeptical about the stock market, I promised her to invest the money only in an ETF (my all-world position).

What do you hope to gain from borrowing money?

As long as you are not allowed to take a bonus from what you are doing: hands off. Getting your hands dirty for 0 return in case of doubt if an idea goes wrong and bearing the full risk is not particularly smart in my view.
