CECO Environmental: helping companies to become greener - and grow themselves in the process

Hello my dears,

In my company presentations, I often look for small niche players in growth sectors. The market value is often not that high.

So I have a question for you.

Is my selection of companies suitable for you, or would you prefer better-known companies with a higher market value?

I hope many of you will answer in the comments.

So that I can tailor my company ideas even better to our community. That is very important to me.

"Successful together"

Today's company is really about a niche player that is active in an area that will become increasingly important in the future. And an investment can probably be made with a clear conscience.

Enjoy the presentation of CECO $CECO (+1,9%)

CECO Environmental is benefiting directly from the global trend towards stricter environmental regulations (air and fluid control) and the energy transition. The company has increased its order backlog to a record level and has recently experienced very strong sales growth, laying the foundation for continued growth in the coming periods. The business model is resilient as it is based on critical, often legally required emission control solutions. Recurring revenue is an important stabilizing factor.

CECO supplies core technology for clean air, water and emission control in industry. Benefiting from the megatrend of decarbonization: stricter environmental regulations are driving sustained demand and growth. CECO is one of those companies that flew under the radar for years: a small industrial supplier, barely known, seemingly interchangeable. Today, the company stands for a completely different story. CECO builds systems with which industry cleans its air and water and reduces emissions.

CECO Environmental has installed more than 32,000 air pollution control systems capable of eliminating more than 4.4 billion pounds of pollutants annually, the equivalent of removing more than 50 million cars from the road. CECO technologies and products reduce or eliminate harmful pollutants, including CO, VOCs, NOx, HAPs, acid gases and particulates.

CECO Environmental: More than just filters: Why the company is growing in the shadow of the energy transition

  • Performance over the last 12 months is 88 %.
  • CECO is ideally positioned to benefit from the structural growth trends in global environmental technology.
  • Stricter regulatory requirements for industrial air pollution control and water treatment are creating consistent demand for CECO's core systems, supported by additional recurring revenues from the service business.

CECO Environmental (NASDAQ: CECO) is a global provider of environmental technologies and solutions whose core business is the design, manufacture and sale of equipment and systems for emissions control and air and liquid filtration. The company focuses on improving industrial air quality, treating industrial water and providing technical solutions to support the global energy transition.

Economically, CECO generates its revenue mainly from two sources: Firstly, from the sale of complex, customized equipment and systems to a diversified industrial customer base, including sectors such as chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals and metal processing, and secondly from the strategically important, higher-margin service and spare parts business. This recurring income from maintenance, repair and the supply of consumables ensures more stable cash flows and improved overall profitability.

CECO Environmental's growth prospects are directly linked to several strong macroeconomic trends. The most important driver is the global tightening of environmental legislation and emissions standards, which is forcing industrial companies to continuously invest in modern environmental protection technologies. CECO benefits directly from this regulatory pressure. In addition, the company plays an active role in the energy transition by offering solutions that both optimize the efficiency of traditional energy generation plants and minimize the environmental impact of new energy sources. The recent positive financial results are supported by a current historically high order backlog, which provides a solid basis for sales growth in the short and medium term.

To accelerate growth and expand its technological reach, CECO is pursuing a targeted strategy of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), particularly to strengthen its presence in new or underserved segments, such as industrial water treatment. While the company is structurally well positioned to benefit from the ongoing growth trend in environmental technology, this positive outlook is already reflected in an ambitious valuation.

The current high P/E ratio25e of 56 shows that the markets have already priced in very high future growth rates. Investors must therefore closely monitor the consistent implementation of the aggressive growth strategy and the further development of profitability in order to be able to assess the justification for this premium.

I always find the company selection outstanding. I don't feel like reading the 150th analysis of a global player. So keep up the good work. I appreciate your contributions.

Thank you, that makes me happy

I think your selection is basically great, lots of things outside the mainstream that you would otherwise never consider.👍🏻

Apart from that, no investment case for me here either.🙂

My dear. I'll find something for you. What do you think of $CODA?

@Tenbagger2024 not uninteresting, but I have thrown myself into the savings plan at TR $NORBT. 😉 Instead of $PNG honestly, the valuation and the share price are now astronomically high for an entry in my view.

And btw: you've already found a few things that interested me, that I'm watching for an entry or that have already found their way into my portfolio.😉😘

Thank you, I also see a lot of potential with Norbit. Maybe I should take something out of Kraken and put it into Norbit or into $CODA

@Tenbagger2024 With Norbit, in addition to the business focus, there was also the issue of geographical diversification. That's why my final decision was in favor of Norbit (and the valuation makes much less pressure😂).

I'll have to compare the two again. But I already have underwater technology with Kawasaki.

Sounds exciting. My problem is: I need more capital to invest!!! 😅

@Tenbagger2024 I am essentially building on my main investments and only occasionally sprinkle in a few 'exotics'. I hope to have completed my core investments by the end of this year and will then be able to allocate more funds to more exciting positions.

It's an exciting read, but for me it's not an area I want to delve deeper into or even invest in. Everything with ESG has not been successful so far, see most recently $EKT. I keep my hands off it and invest in dirty markets such as tobacco, alcohol, oil, armaments.... 🤷‍♂️😇

@Dividendenopi
😂 But performance says something different at ceco. This is about added value for companies. And due to regulations, there is no alternative. And air and water won't get any better. This is also about batteries, etc. Maybe just take a look at the company. And don't say no straight away.

@Dividendenopi
My question in the introduction was also another one. Perhaps you would like to write me something about that too

@Tenbagger2024 I personally think the selection of companies is good. You hear about big players or hype stocks on the ticker every day. There are so many stocks that you are more likely to come across by chance, so your brainstorming is very welcome. Unfortunately, most of the stocks don't fit into my dividend strategy, but there is still room for 2 stocks in the Tenbagger portfolio and even if I have halved my trading portfolio for this, there is still capital available where I would like to pick up one or two stocks. I'd be very happy to keep up the good work, but I don't think you'll get the widespread approval here on GQ that your work deserves

Thank you my dear.
Yes, in Münsterland they say
"Wat de Buer nich kennt, dat frett he nich"
And that's how many people invest.
And maybe I cook too exotic for most people. By the way, I've also tagged you at $CODA. Perhaps also interesting

@Tenbagger2024 and in terms of stock selection, it is already special here. There are hate stocks and favorite stocks. They attract more attention than niche players. I know, you put a lot of effort and time into it and are happy about every reaction, which then usually gets hardly any attention, everyone should I sell or hold $INTC post has a greater reach. Please don't let that stop you from continuing as before. Just take a few "old" ideas from 2024 or so and show how things have developed. It's certainly no guarantee that things will always work out like this, but maybe one or two people will move away from short-term thinking.

Yes, good idea. Although I've also considered getting less involved.

@Tenbagger2024 less means not a new stock every day 😇. You should also note that many people here are highly invested and that there is not enough capital left to cover the abundance of interesting stocks

Very exciting company and your company selection is always interesting, I wouldn't need an introduction to companies that everyone knows anyway

My dear, from my point of view I would like to introduce only rather unknown companies. For me, this is all brutal added value and absolutely everything is always interesting. Incidentally, the selection always lives up to your name Tenbagger 🚀

@toscho Thank you dear. I find Ceco very exciting, unfortunately I already have so many industrial stocks, and also US stocks. Otherwise I would also invest here

@Tenbagger2024 I'm definitely missing something on the subject of waste/environmental. I think $PESI and $PCYO are also sensational. You presented them once. You always have a very fine selection there 👍🏻

That makes exciting reading. I like it and will take a closer look at it. However, I'm a little cautious with prices that have already risen. I don't really know whether to buy now given the performance... I think your selection is great and it doesn't always have to be well-known companies. Less well-known ones are more exciting. I think Ceco could have good potential in the longer term 😀

Thank you my dear. I would perhaps also wait for a correction. Which should certainly come in March or April at the latest for the whole market. Maybe then a good opportunity

I like the selection of stocks. Of course, it might be interesting to look at more stable values from time to time to compare these figures with the pearls.
••
immagine del profilo
@TradingHase Don't you think the companies are stable? They are often traditional companies. Well-established, but probably rather unknown
••
immagine del profilo
@Tenbagger2024 Yes, that's what I meant. Established in the sense that the companies are publicly recognized.
••
immagine del profilo
@TradingHase if you only invest in such companies, you are leaving good performance behind. Growth is more likely to come from small, unknown companies.
••
immagine del profilo
@Tenbagger2024 I wasn't interested in investing in it, but rather in comparing it with the performance pearls.
Something like your point comparisons.
Maybe something like that can be well represented in a points comparison. Known player vs. pearl.
