@Ayecaramba256 The weighting of my Allianz position was way too high, and the return is actually pretty good 👍

@hvqo A common mistake is to sell or reduce your winning positions. Why didn't you let the position run and simply build up others going forward to reduce its weighting?

@Ayecaramba256 I just don't have a lot of income since I'm a student, and I'd like to keep my portfolio well-balanced.

@Ayecaramba256 I wouldn't call this result an "error."

@MrKurt89 Selling off is a mistake. And it’s a typical (psychological) one. Many people tend to sell or reduce their holdings in stocks that are performing well and hold onto stocks that are down (precisely because they’re down). Anyone who doesn’t understand this will face ongoing problems and underperform the market significantly.

Then YOU should do that and let the others have their own experiences 😉 It always depends on the individual situation.

@Ayecaramba256 I have to say I completely agree with you, especially in this case.

@Ayecaramba256 But why should I hold onto a position that makes up two-thirds of my portfolio and is also up 230 percent when I can use the proceeds to achieve broader diversification? Besides, I still hold a large portion of Allianz.

@hvqo And how much in taxes did you end up paying?

@MrKurt89 Let them. Still, I'm giving this tip. I don't really care whether people follow it or not;) It's not my money

You can do it, but you don't have to.

Have you ever thought about the fact that they’re going to really cash in with the upcoming pension fund in 2027 alone? đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Plus, they’re continuing to consistently expand their business areas beyond just the insurance business....

Especially since, based on your reasoning from the other post—or rather, your response to it—you’d have to trim $FNTN right away next, according to your logic đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Personally, I would have let the stock run its course, collected the dividends, and used that time to open or expand other positions... that way, the weighting shifts all on its own 😉

If I’d followed your logic, I would’ve blown a lot of my current performance, and who knows whether you’ll keep hitting it big or get burned with your current profits and new investments đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

But to each his own
 as Peter Lynch would say
I still wish you continued success with your investment đŸ‘đŸ»

@SAUgut777 I agree. The large position will shrink on its own if you reduce your holdings in other positions. I understand the concern about concentrated risk, but I consider the risk with Allianz to be relatively low.

Personally, I also don't see any reason not to rebalance, especially since you've only sold a portion of your holdings and are still invested :) Congratulations on the 225% return, and best of luck!
