Schmackofatz 🥃

Today I once again received a tasty dividend from the good old $VWRL (+0,15%) received today. 🧘🏻‍♂️ Will be reinvested directly.

I'm always fascinated by how many people prefer a small cookie just because it crumbles....

@Epi only people who understand that crumbles are part of the cookie, will happily eat the cake in the future

@Epi Let the cookie grow into a cake first, my best :)

@Epi Up to €1k in income, it doesn't matter anyway. But if it goes beyond that at some point, I'd rather pay my taxes on actual amounts on an ongoing basis than pay taxes on fictitious profits for 40 years (advance lump sum). I also don't have to use any compound interest calculators to get the last 3.50 marks out of the whole thing. In the end, of course, it's personal preference.

@flowriii That's my point: because of the crumbs, many people choose a cookie that stays one for ages. Why not choose a cookie that turns into cake much more quickly? 🤷

@c05 So I would never let this strange pre-pauachale influence my strategy. 😅

@Epi because for many people it's enough to do more with their money than just let it sit in an overnight money account. I understand what you're getting at, but everyone has a different risk tolerance. For my part, I feel comfortable with passive investing in a simple ETF (Welt AG und gib ihm) - but of course I continue to watch the momentum strategy's journey from the outside :)

@flowriii Basically, I agree with you. "WorldAG savings plan and done" is the best investment strategy for most people (provided they can deal with crises and profits). Collecting 7%pa over the long term is definitely better than a savings pot, current account or even worse: private pension insurance. 🫠

However, and I'm increasingly surprised by this: if you want to go beyond the 7%pa and spend a lot of time on the stock market - why do you spend your time on strategies that don't make a significant difference? I mean, if you want more, then do it properly and not just half! (Momentum is just one variant, there are more).

But there is probably no rational answer to this, only a psychological one. 🤷

@Epi If the VWRL is a cookie, what is the cake?
immagine del profilo
@Iwamoto See answer above here. 😏

VWRL = cookie (7%pa), crumb (1.x%pa dividend)
Momentum/value/growth/leverage/indicator etc. - Strategies (e.g. Amumbo, 3xGTAA) = cake (15%-20%pa)

Most people only see the difference VWRL vs. savings account or vs. equity gambling, but not the difference VWRL vs. strategies. Simply because they don't know what strategies actually are. And because they are satisfied with the first difference: I am better than my stupid neighbor... (which is not wrong, but only half the truth).

@Epi Thank you, that's plausible. I better not ask about the feast, banquet and wedding buffet now. 🤪
