What is your current view on Broadcom? Like all semiconductors have done very well recently... but has anyone taken a closer look lately?

One of the semiconductor companies flying pretty much under the radar is Broadcom.

The figures presented today are again quite respectable. Earnings per share were 7.81 dollars. Thus, the expectations were slightly exceeded.

Compared with the prior-year quarter, sales increased by 14.4% to 7.4 billion dollars.

In addition, a $10 billion share buyback program was announced. The dividend will be increased by 14%. The series of considerable increases in payment is thus continued.

In total, I have 16 shares of Broadcom in my portfolios. A share that has only known one direction in recent years.

Due price performance on a 1-year view is 39 %, on a 5-year view 245 %, on a 10-year view 1,820 %. My own position is up about 180%. Here, I usually don't have to do much more than take a quick look at the quarterly numbers every three months. So far, the company is delivering strongly.

𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 - Fluence Energy recently filed a draft of its IPO prospectus, making a big move to the Nasdaq technology exchange. Fluence is developing lithium-ion batteries to store energy. The idea is to balance the power grid, which is gradually being fed by fluctuating renewable energy.

At the beginning of the year, Fluence was valued at more than $1 billion. Siemens ($SIE (-2,51%)) holds 43% of the shares.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 🏛️

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 ($APC (+0,65%)) - The chip shortage is now bringing the smartphone giant to its knees. It should have produced 90 million units of the new iPhone 13 by Christmas. This figure is expected to be lower, according to Bloomberg. The reason for this is supply bottlenecks of chips from Texas Instruments ($TII (+2,43%)) and Broadcom ($AVGOP), which are responsible for the display power supply of the new smartphone, among other things.

In this context, the iPhone represents the group's flagship, which is responsible for 50% of sales.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 ($TMV (+2,46%)) - A cooperation with Google ($GGQA) is intended to make the German company's augmented reality glasses marketable. Teamviewer's application allows retailers to directly reorder items by interacting with the products displayed in the glasses. In doing so, the glasses are connected to the retailer's order processing system to display current inventory levels. The cooperation with Google is seen as a beacon of hope for Teamviewer, as the company's share price has fallen by about 60% since the beginning of the year due to disappointing figures.

𝗥𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 - Ripple and Nelnet ($NIJ (-7,89%)) have announced plans to set up a renewable energy fund. This is expected to save about 1.5 million tons of carbon emissions in the U.S., which is roughly equivalent to the consumption of 583 million liters of gasoline. Ripple therefore invested $44 million in Nelnet's solar energy fund, but further investments are to follow.

Ken Weber, head of social impact, also announced that more projects will be set up to further reduce the crypto industry's carbon footprint.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 - Iron ore has had one of its worst weeks since 2008. One reason is the shutdown in demand from China. According to the Chinese government, steel production is expected to be maintained at around 1 billion tons this year. Tensions between Australia, the biggest producer of iron ore, and China are also a reason for the Chinese government to limit steel production.

𝗗𝗲𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗺𝘄𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗳𝗲 - German Environmental Aid (DHU) has criticized carmakers BMW ($BMW3 (-2,99%)) and Daimler subsidiary Mercedes ($DAII (-3,69%)) are suing. In early September, DHU and Greenpeace issued "climate-protective injunctions" to VW (), BMW, Mercedes and Wintershall (). They were asked to stop selling new cars with internal combustion engines from 2030. Wintershall was asked to stop oil and gas production projects by 2026. As the deadline set expired at ten o'clock last Monday, the lawsuits have now been filed. The government has already decided to ban the sale of new petrol or diesel cars from 2030. A major problem in the transport transition is the lack of charging options. This is now to be remedied.

With the 50,000 new charging stations, Shell could claim a third of the public charging market.

After a slow start in 2018, the platform now seems to have transformed into a competitive streaming provider. According to Mark Mulligan of Midia Research, YouTube Music is Gen Z's Spotify.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗺𝘂𝘁𝘇𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝗱 - According to Handelsblatt, the number of suspected crypto cases at the Customs Money Laundering Unit (FIU) increased sharply last year.

In 2018, the number of crypto-related money laundering suspicious activity reports was around 570, and by 2020 it had already risen to 2050 suspicious cases. However, due to a growing cryptomarket, this is not surprising. According to FDP financial expert Schäffler, the German government must now increase the pressure to prosecute.
