April graduation + wedding special

current April performance see Rewind

Target for 2024 as every year TTWROR of 15%

🔥Hot factor: Amazon

🚀KingMidasFactor: Paypal

🤖Roboadvisor overall performance currently at +15.72

1 franc currently 1.02 euros

RoboadvisorThe savings rate was reduced by half and 80% of the portfolio was paid out. the remaining position has a (simple) return of 88.78%.

Crypto: After the announcement from Bitvavo, I transferred everything that was transferable and sold the remaining positions. Now I only use Nexo and Bison. Savings plans have also been adjusted.

Timeless: A successful exit. Otherwise a monthly savings plan.

NFT: no news

🎼Music rights via Globalrockstars: It will soon be possible to invest in musicals. more info https://www.eposmusical.com

Current individual shares/ETFs/savings plans: New in the portfolio $RACE (-1%)

I have started new savings plans on dividend-paying ETFs from the money that has been freed up. I also find the covered call ETFs very interesting for hedging the portfolio. $QYLE (-0,83%) very interesting. Gpt says they work as follows: Covered call ETFs, seek to generate income from option premiums while benefiting from limited price gains and cushioning the risk by owning the underlying stocks.

I still build up a buffer for further individual purchases.

April in review: I had 24 days of vacation. We got married in a church and went to Mexico for our honeymoon.

Podcast: The latest episode with Capitalcyclist is online. If you want to listen, you can find us here: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/waschbaerundkoenig

Real Estate: I'm still looking for a suitable balcony power plant.

My personal plan is to pay off the apartment as quickly as possible. Many people don't understand this, but I feel better being debt-free. 5% unscheduled repayments are possible every year and I currently have 3.5% for this again

How was your month?

So my divorce was significantly more expensive 😜

Congratulations 🍾

@six it was difficult to find the right react to this answer😂

@six I got lucky with my first divorce. Cost me about 30 bucks in fees and 4000 in write-offs. That was like the cheapest way to get rid of her.

Our wedding, which is also taking place this year, will cost a very similar amount - despite different cost blocks. Catering, however, is (probably) similar.

We're not including a honeymoon, but we haven't planned one yet (my partner's employment contract ends shortly after the wedding).

Thanks for the breakdown!

@KevinC seems to be the standard. Ours will probably cost a bit more, but in the end it will be similar. @Koenigmidas The tips for the DJ and photographer are very useful 👍

@DonkeyInvestor According to my Excel (I can't help it... I have to remind my girlfriend from time to time how much she loves me anyway), the biggest cost item is probably the guests 🙃 or their number. That's the only thing where you could really save money (in theory).
immagine del profilo
@KevinC We already have a few set screws. BBQ with burgers and beef or just pork? Cocktails or just beer and wine? Finger food as a welcome drink or coffee and cake? ...?

At least that's what my Excel list says 😅. Or just celebrate as a couple. But my wife is against that.

@DonkeyInvestor We only have one caterer in our area that offers a relatively large selection of vegetarian options (many guests and my partner don't eat meat). There are buffet menus from 40 to 60€ plus 19% pp.
We bring our own drinks with a drinks trolley and provide the caterer with them (beer, wine, juices, soft drinks, I think some kind of long drink), but the glasses alone will cost quite a bit.

Coffee and cake on top, logistics staff for set-up and dismantling and 3-4 service staff. Decoration, DJ,...
Photographer and one of those dress-up boxes (I can never do anything with them, but I have to 🤷‍♂️ ) are luckily available for free. I'm still trying to find a cheap alternative to the stupid chair covers.
immagine del profilo
@KevinC Okay, you take care of a lot yourselves. Not us 😅. We looked at a location, they take care of everything except the decorations, wedding speaker, DJ and photo box. We just have to say what we want. That's it 😎. To be honest, I don't feel like taking care of much. Of course, that can also cost a bit
immagine del profilo
@KevinC We kept the costs down because my wife did most of the decorations herself. And we only had a small dessert and a cake buffet (16 cakes) but half of it was left over.
immagine del profilo
@DonkeyInvestor dj would have been even more expensive. And the photographer was the wife's wish - I don't think much of photos, there are cheaper ones...

@KevinC If it had been up to me, there would have been even more people. In terms of cost per head, it just depends on the offer. And in terms of the individual listings, the bar was the sticking point. I can give you a few individual listings later

@KevinC for us the price per person was 59.3€ plus 19% drinks, which is the biggest margin our red wine costs 8€ in the store and the location charges 22€ we also had a veggi buffet. We did without Stuhlhusen.

Sounds like a beautiful wedding :)

Fortunately, my wife didn't attach any importance to a pompous wedding 😅

We only paid the fee for the registry office and money for the register book.

@Bacalhau My wife has throttled me. I would have invited even more people.....
immagine del profilo
Would never spend that much on a wedding (big party)
3
immagine del profilo
@Ayecaramba256 We have already taken on some things ourselves and kept the costs down. There are some locations that wanted a rental fee of 40euros for an ashtray.....

My warmest congratulations 🥂🍾

Since the guests don't come empty-handed, a wedding like this probably won't turn out quite so expensive after all...
1
@Pezi That's true, it does apply some pressure, but it is far from covering. At least that's my experience
1
immagine del profilo
@Pezi I am assuming €0 "revenue". Of course there will be money. But I personally don't want to count on it. I would be happy about every guest, even if they don't bring a gift. I just want to have a nice day. So for me, every euro we get is an "unexpected gain", like when you put your winter jacket back on after 9 months and find a €50 bill inside.

Congratulations 🍾

The most important thing is that you had the party you wanted and that you were with the people you want to be around at times like this! Whether it costs €5,000 or €25,000 afterwards, the main thing is that you can look back on the day(s) with joy and feel good! 🤗

By the way, our wedding was also a lot cheaper but also simpler. A celebration with only the closest relatives, but still good food and beautiful pictures. The trip is still to come as soon as other projects are completed.
Nevertheless, everything was as we had imagined it, so the expenses (approx. 2680€) are also quite manageable.

All the best for your future! 🍀

❤️ Congratulations 🍾!

Out of curiosity, how many guests did you have at your weddings?
immagine del profilo
immagine del profilo
@Patrizier Invited: 80 adults plus about 15 children "appendix". But I suspect there will probably be a few less.

Thanks for the breakdown. When me and my wife got married (I was 21), I haven’t got enough money for wedding. My salary at the time was 2200 € brutto per month (1700 € neto). So we decided to just register our marriage and celebrate in a cafe with our parents. All together it costed us ~250 €

I promised her to make a real wedding later once we settle up financially.

5 years later (now) my income is >10k € per month (Neto). And I think now is the time to think about the marriage. So thanks again for the breakdown, now I know what costs to expect 😌😇
How can I see these monthly summaries again?
There was certainly also income that is missing from the list or you'll get a guilty conscience😃
Interesting nonetheless!
immagine del profilo
@Charlyfirpo I think this should not be included in the calculation
1
@Koenigmidas Even if you think so, the account says something else in the end. + or - 😃
Honestly, found the listing interesting even if it's not for me.
All the best with it!!!

In another article, the squirrel asks whether German men and women pay separately when eating out. Either way....but much worse are men who calculate what the wedding cost in euros. My comment.... But you were stingy with the rings...you should have saved money on the party. :-)
immagine del profilo
@Tillmatic
What makes the ring better for more money?
I can still remember my wedding party 17 years later.
I lost the ring 10 years ago. 😅🤷🏻‍♂️
1
immagine del profilo
@Tillmatic I don't think it's a bad thing that you have to bear the costs together. Having an overview of expenses is a kind of self-discipline for me and has also helped me with real estate financing. Regarding the rings: my wife and I are not allowed to wear rings at work. So why should we spend money on something we only wear in our free time?
