Bitcoin Trading Program

Hey guys, I have written an automatic trading program for the $BTC (-0,5%) program. I wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience or uses one themselves. I have 5000€ as realistic margin and a 1:5 leverage. I've been backtesting it since 2018 and I have to say that I'm very happy with the returns. It cushions the downs quite okay. #bitcoin
$BTC (-0,5%) I am at approx. 133k. Don't take me apart too much ;)

Interesting would be when in 2018. there are entry points where you would have done better with buy & hold 🫣

Very cool. I like people who just get on with it and "do" something. Whether it turns out well (which I hope) or not (which I don't hope). The important thing is simply to "do". Because if you don't do anything, you can't achieve anything

@Assets23 yes I plan to do that, I am currently writing and optimizing a program that trades for me and so far it looks very good in the backtest.

I still don't understand what the system is. The screenshot looks like you are simply smoothing the price history. Can you describe this in more detail?
It also seems important to me to consider the tax implications of crypto trading. Have you included this in the model?

@randomdude hi, this is the backtest the green is the capital and the blue is the account balance. The tax should actually be done by the broker as there are some who pay taxes automatically

@wealth_navigator_64 Yes, but even if the taxes are paid automatically (which is usually not the case because Bitcoin profits are capital gains that are taxed at the personal income tax rate for < 1 year) you still have to take the taxes into account in the backtest. Since the holding period in your trading model is probably always shorter than one year, B&H could be better because of the tax advantage.

@randomdude I also said that it works with bitcoin, but also with the NASDAQ and currencies, gold, etc. The tax issue is on the back burner for now
