September tops and flops in the Tenbagger ETF

Hello my dears,

September is over.

That's why I'd like to give you a little overview of the month.

Tops: 📉

$INOD (-4,01 %)
$APP (-0,43 %)
$MU (+2,04 %)
$GILT (-0,86 %)
$PNG (+2,81 %)
$AVAV (+4,75 %)
$ASML (-0,29 %)

Flops: 📈

$UFPT (+1,83 %)
$CAMX (+2,12 %)
$TDG (+0,27 %)
$CMG (+3,62 %)
$TTEK (+0 %)
$CPRT (+1,44 %)
$CSU (+3,25 %)

It was noticeable in September that there were a lot of long runners and compounders among the flops. For this reason, I am relaxed for the time being and will stick to the values.

📉

My overall portfolio closed the month up 8.64 %.

$EQQQ (-0,67 %) NASDAQ 100. +4.81 %

$IWDA (-0,05 %) MSCI World. +2,62 %

Not bad!
But how do you arrive at "only" +8.6% with the high returns of the winners? Are there so few or so little weighted?

@Epi
With my 60-position ETF, it's just spread out.
Nevertheless, I should have beaten the NASDAQ

@Tenbagger2024 I see, the screenshot is only a very small section.
And yes, QQQ was up approx. +4.5% (in EUR).

@Epi
Yes exactly, I have quite a few positions because I've put in a few growth stocks.
So the probability of finding a tenbagger is higher. Just like this week with applovin.

@Tenbagger2024 I know the logic well 😉
I now do a little more differentiated math:
Potential profit = 1)Position size x 2)Price potential x 3)Probability of occurrence.

In your case (for many values) 2 are very large, but 1+3 are very small.
In my strategies, I have tried to reverse this so that two factors work for me and not just one. 😬

But in the end, only success proves you right. So if you also achieve the goal of "constant excess return", then it's a good fit. 👍

I am satisfied so far.
I have built a core of quality stocks (endurance runners / compounders).
And around it satellites, smaller growth stocks.
In contrast to an ETF, I only try to pick out the cherries.
So the probability of beating the World or NASDAQ is given.
In contrast to an ETF, I can react and rebalance at any time.
But if possible, I try to let everything run for the time being.

@Epi
By the way, try to avoid small position sizes.

@Tenbagger2024 With 60 positions, each position has an average of 1.67%. What does "small position" mean for you?
image de profil
@Epi
Yes, you're right in percentage terms, of course.
I just meant in terms of the € sum, so that a multibagger is also worthwhile.
image de profil
@Tenbagger2024 How? You still think in absolute values? 😮
image de profil
@Epi
I just wanted to say that I don't buy shares for a small amount.
Except perhaps for an absolute risk value.

@Smudeo not at all

@Tenbagger2024 Congratulations! Can only show 6.5%. Where do you currently see the best buying opportunities? Some stocks are already very hot

@growth_guru_ynrzn
Do you mean in general or in a specific sector?
I still see pent-up demand in the pharma sector.
Otherwise, Amazon has not performed well so far, but the valuation is not yet too expensive
So there is still some catching up to do.
Otherwise I'm thinking of going into mines, maybe even silver.
I also see potential in the US defense industry.

@growth_guru_ynrzn
6.5 % is also mega.
@Tenbagger2024
Rather general. Interesting assessment, I share your view for pharma, mining and silver. Amazon is also a good tip. Which pharmaceutical and mining companies do you find most interesting?
image de profil
@growth_guru_ynrzn
I'm still analyzing mines myself.
I have my eye on $PAAS ( @Multibagger what do you think?).
Pharma is very volatile right now due to 🍊, and the question is whether USA or Europe?
Here I am at $KRYS $CORT and $VRTX.
I have just bought $CAMX in Europe.

@Tenbagger2024 $PAAS are simply one of the big players in the silver sector. If you assume a rising silver price, you can't go far wrong. I find $CDE a little more interesting but also slightly riskier. I sold it after a 70% profit. After that it made another 100%. So far this year, it's been one of the few investments I've made.
image de profil
@Multibagger
Silver is doing well at the moment and is also benefiting from the fact that it is being processed in production.
And I also see longer-term potential in the mines.
Or would you continue to lean towards gold mines?
1
image de profil
@Tenbagger2024 I only do gold mines with the ETF from Wisdomtree. With $CDE you have both. I currently have a leveraged derivative on silver

@Tenbagger2024 My post was a bit of misinformation. I am still quite heavily invested in $PPTA.
image de profil
@Multibagger
Are they already mining and profitable?
1
image de profil
@Tenbagger2024 mining yes, profitable I don't know. I'm well in the black. $PPTA I've been in the savings plan since April 23, was one of my starting positions in the €100,000 project 😉 I bought the first shares for €3.63.
