🪙 10k in Bitcoin: brilliant idea or FOMO? 🚀📉

I am currently facing a major decision and need the swarm intelligence of the community.

I am currently considering 10,000 CHF directly in Bitcoin ($BTC (-0,22 %) ) directly. The money is currently lying around more or less lazily in the call money account. The rest of my portfolio is classically diversified (broad ETFs, a few individual shares).

I've been itching to get into the crypto market for a while now, but 10k isn't pocket money either.

Now my question to you:

  • Is this currently (mid-2026) a solid entry point or am I walking into the FOMO trap with my eyes wide open?
  • Would it be better to take the full risk with a one-off investment or divide the sum up (e.g. with a savings plan over the next few months)?

I look forward to your opinions :)

I went in exactly 3 years ago and 2 years ago with a larger position and always left it. Now, in the summer slump, I will probably do the same again. If it goes sideways for more than a month in a range of 10k up and down like in 2024, I always start my savings plan as well.

I use my own tactics:

Broker 1 for larger one-off investment, buy at -15%

Broker 2 the savings plan starts below a price I decide and runs until the positions are 10% up, then I leave it deactivated again.

In this way you accumulate via a savings plan in sideways phases and at the same time you use the DCA.

The safest way is to buy permanently via a savings plan, possibly also daily between 2-3 o'clock. That's when the first movements are in the futures market and you usually get good entries.

No investment advice!

I ask myself, how can you even feel something like FOMO with crypto at the moment ;-)

If you can cope with a few red figures and don't need the money next month, then go for it. It's certainly not a bad place to start in the long term.

The sentiment shows no FOMO right now or did I miss something. It feels like we are one 15% dip away from RIP BTC.
Some "investors" are also calling BTC a "failed project".

Personally, I have a target amount x, which will be invested piece by piece, i.e. in my case 500-650 per week until the end of the year.

I have a savings plan running until October/November. I think until then, Bitcoin can still run towards 30k in the current interest rate environment if things go badly. (Or good for us to get in).
From October/November the whole thing should then turn again in my opinion. :)

As it says in your profile buy and hold😉

If you see a bottom forming, get in; if you think it will remain volatile, save; if you see the devil in BTC, sell immediately and stay away;

Would either go in completely (but only after the SpaceX IPO this week), or with 50% and the rest via a savings plan in the next 4-5 months.

@Da_Fischi Why would you wait for the SpaceX IPO?

Because my crystal ball 🔮 says that even more capital will be reallocated, causing the BTC price to fall further.

I am currently buying again in stages. I don't mind if it goes down for another 2 years or moves sideways.
