14Price losses for French spirits producers: LVMH hit particularly hard by anti-dumping measures in China
French spirits producers saw their share prices fall on Tuesday morning after China announced provisional anti-dumping measures against spirits imports from the European Union.
The shares of Pernod Ricard $RI (-0,3 %) fell by
2.7 %, while Remy Cointreau $RCO (-0,18 %) lost 8 %.
The share price of LVMH $MC (+0,92 %) the producer of Hennessy cognac, fell by 4.3%. This was part of a wider decline in luxury stocks, with traders citing the lack of fresh impetus from China as the reason.
LVMH generates around 30% of its total sales in China, which is one of the most important emerging markets. In the luxury segment, Chinese demand is therefore crucial for the company's growth. The spirits division, which includes brands such as Hennessy-Cognac, accounts for around 10% of LVMH's total sales, with the Asian market, particularly China, accounting for a significant proportion of these sales.

$RI (-0,3 %) Does anyone know why Pernod has a relatively high upside at the moment?
I can't find any news that sounds particularly positive.
I think $RI (-0,3 %) is in an exciting zone... do any of you have it in your portfolio and do you think it's worth buying in the long term?

As I've noticed that my alcohol consumption increases with every child 😂, I'm toying with the idea of simply getting the two big alcohol manufacturers into my depot, as I'm finding it difficult to decide which one to choose.
Due to the higher interest rates, I assume that we will see rising share prices in the short to medium term if interest rates fall, as the dividend will then become more attractive again and consumption should continue to rise.
At least that's my thesis, the share price is not cheap but below the long-term average and both have already fallen a little.
In line with the motto: Gsoffn will always be 🤪
How do you see it?
Hello, what are your favorite luxury stocks.
Yesterday I added PERNOD RICARD to my portfolio.

Exchange traded companies in my professional everyday life in precious metals and foreign exchange trading:
- Umicore $UMI (+0,25 %) (refinery)
- Prosegur $PSG (-0,6 %) (security, logistics, cashrecyling)
- Johnson Controls $JCI (-0,01 %) (security)
- Swiss National Bank $SNBN (+0,98 %) (foreign exchange trading)
- National Bank of Japan $8301 (foreign exchange trading)
- FedEx $FDX (+1,38 %) (logistics)
- United Parcel Service $UPS (+1,12 %) (logistics)
- Cloudflare $NET (+0,34 %) (IT Security, Web)
- Fortinet $FTNT (-0,22 %) (IT Security)
- Teamviewer $TMV (+0,32 %) (Software)
- Microsoft $MSFT (+0,84 %) (Software)
- Cancom $COK (-3,42 %) (IT system house)
- Kyocera $6971 (+0,24 %) (printer and scan hardware)
- Alphabet $GOOGL (+0,16 %) (Who doesn't know it...?, research)
Naturally, I still have to do with various things which are traded on the stock exchange, but are not companies... these include: $965515 (+0,45 %) (gold), $965310 (+0,55 %) (silver), platinum and the various currency pairs like $965275 (-0,57 %) (EUR/USD) but also all other currencies (AUD, NOK, GBP, JPN, SEK, PLN, CZK, SAR, etc. etc. etc.). Subordinately, we also have to deal with $BTC (+0,31 %) (Bitcoin), although it is rather negligible.
In our other parts of the company we also deal with $UHR (-0,22 %) (SwatchGroup).
What strikes me personally when I look at my professional environment:
There are dozens of companies in this sector, which are not traded on the stock exchange. Among them are some refineries (partly huge company constructs), service providers and luxury goods manufacturers. Also in the area of analysis technology (physical), equipment and software, there are some well-known manufacturers who have so far shied away from the stock exchange or are family-run.
In my private environment I have to do of course like each of you with various products and brands. A separate listing should be interesting for the fewest...
But the most extraordinary might be $RI (-0,3 %) (Pernod Ricard), which is not least due to one of my hobbies: ABSOLUT VODKA bottles in the various designs and Limiteditions collect.
Basically I nominate all Getquin friendsbut especially @Der_Dividenden_Monteur , @Staatsmann
@Simpson !
